About
PeakDork is a hiking app for people who love peaks so much they get a little dorky about them. It is built to track every summit you reach, plan the ones you want to hit next, and remember the details years later when you want to look back. Whether you chase summits in your local range every weekend or work toward a single ambitious climb each year, PeakDork keeps the whole story in one place.
The heart of the app is a detailed page for every peak. Browse a vetted database of named summits across the United States, search by name or location, save the ones that catch your eye, and pin a date when you plan to climb. Reach the top and log your visit; turn back early and that counts too. Attach photos, write a short trip report, and PeakDork remembers what the day was actually like instead of leaving you to dig through camera roll dates a year later.
PeakDork is designed to work without a connection, because the places you go usually do not have signal. Save a peak, plan a climb, upload a photo, or write a trip report at the trailhead, on the summit, in your tent, or anywhere else, and the app will quietly upload everything the next time it sees the internet. A sync queue on the activity tab shows exactly what is waiting to upload, so nothing ever feels lost.
Other climbers' photos and trip reports show up on each peak's page once they have been reviewed, so you get an honest look at what the climb is actually like before you go. PeakDork is built by nature lovers for hikers and climbers, or to put it more honestly, by dorks for mountain dorks.
