User reviews

Pretty neat

I stumbled across this app on Reddit. I’m learning French, and I’ve been enjoying it so far. The only thing I’ve been wondering about is whether it should be a bit stricter with pronunciation. It seems more relaxed compared to other language apps but of course, I could be wrong, lol.

Response from developer

Hey, thanks so much for your review - really glad you’ve been enjoying the app and learning French with it! We’re actively working on improving the pronunciation detection so it feels stricter, smarter, and more realistic. Really appreciate you calling this out.

Great speaking practice for beginners

Great app for practicing speaking and learning grammar structures. Repeat after me practice structure with examples and doesn’t punish you for making mistakes.

Only drawbacks are:

-No placement test to see what you know already. You must start with the basics and work through the entire lesson.

-You can only select one language and cannot switch to practice both Spanish and French.

-No hands free mode to practice as compared to some of the other language learning speaking apps.

Response from developer

Hey - thanks for the review and for trying Pebble 🙏 Good news: our latest update fixes most of this - you can now skip ahead to any lesson and switch between Spanish/French (in Profile or by tapping the language in the header). Hands-free mode is a great call too - we’re considering it.

Great for speaking

Best for beginners and also for speaking. The app is really new and doesn’t have complete content yet but the process for beginners is really interesting because I find that you don’t forget the words that you’re learning as much as with other apps

Response from developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! We are glad the app is working for you and that the words are sticking.

Immediate speaking

I’ve had so much fun using this app. I really enjoy saying full sentences that are actually sticking to my brain

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the feedback - it really means a lot to us!
