About
Peek Outside is a bus door you can open, and a street somewhere in the world behind it.
Tap the doors. They fold back the way a real bus door does, with the sound of one, and through the opening is a real place — a lane in Kyoto, a canal in Amsterdam, a park in Dublin. Shut them and open them again and you are somewhere else.
You do not choose where. That is the point.
WHAT YOU GET
• A different place every time the doors open, from Apple Maps' street-level imagery.
• Landmarks or any street. Landmarks aims the view at a museum, a park, a monument or another sight nearby; any street drops you wherever the draw lands.
• Choose the countries. Twenty-five countries with street-level coverage, on or off as you like.
• A note on where you are. The place, the area, the country, what is nearby, and a short description written on the device by Apple Intelligence.
• A history of every place you have opened the doors onto, kept on your device, with the street view again and a way through to Apple Maps.
• Look around by dragging, or tap the view for full-screen Look Around.
PRIVACY
No account, no sign-in, no advertising. The app never asks where you are — it has no use for your location, only for places far from it. Your history stays on your device.
REQUIREMENTS
An internet connection, for the street imagery. Descriptions are written on devices that support Apple Intelligence; elsewhere the app shows the facts without them.
