About

Peg is a simple guitar tuner for iPhone and iPad. No ads, no account, nothing to set up. Open the app, pluck a string, and you'll know right away whether it's sharp or flat. Peg works out which string you're playing, and a chromatic mode lets you tune other instruments too. TUNE BY LOOKING, OR BY FEEL - A big note name and a meter that shows how many cents you're off, from -50 to +50 - Turns green when you're within 5 cents - On iPhone, a short haptic tap when a string is in tune, so you can keep your eyes on the headstock - Each tuned string gets a green dot. Get all six and you're done - When it's quiet, small bars move with the sound, so you can see Peg is listening - Want the exact pitch? Turn on Show Frequency (Hz) in Settings to see it in hertz STANDARD TUNING, AUTO OR MANUAL Peg tunes your guitar to standard tuning: E A D G B E, from the low string to the high one. In Auto, Peg finds the string for you. Switch to Manual, or tap a string, to tune only that one. HEAR THE NOTE Tap the speaker button to play the target note for about 3 seconds and tune by ear. Peg stops listening while the note plays, so it never mistakes its own sound for your guitar. CHROMATIC MODE Switch to Chromatic and Peg shows the nearest note for whatever you play, so you can tune other instruments too. ON A BIGGER SCREEN On iPad, Peg works in portrait and landscape. The big readout sits above the strings in portrait and beside them in landscape. On iPhone Duo, the readout and the strings sit on either side of the fold. ONE TAP TO TUNE Add Peg's Tune control to Control Center. On iPhone, you can also put it on the Lock Screen or the Action button. Or just say "Tune with Peg" to Siri. Peg opens ready to tune. MADE FOR TUNING, NOTHING ELSE - The screen stays on while you tune - Works with acoustic and electric guitars through the built-in microphone - Works with VoiceOver - No ads. No account. No sign-up YOUR PRIVACY Peg listens only to measure pitch. Audio is processed on your device. It's never recorded, saved or uploaded, and Peg doesn't collect any data. Available in 15 languages: English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai. Requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later. Support: https://joshuayueshen.github.io/peg/
