About

Pegel – Water levels and tides at a glance Pegel displays current water levels and tide forecasts for selected monitoring stations in Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark – clearly, quickly and without a cluttered interface. The app is aimed at anyone who wants to keep an eye on water levels and tides: sailors, mudflat walkers, coastal residents, inland and commercial skippers, anglers, kayakers or simply people who want to know what the water is up to. For water level gauges, Pegel displays the current reading, trends, the time of the last measurement and the location on the map. For tide gauges, the app shows the next high and low tides, including the time, height and reference level. In the detailed view, sunrise, sunset, moon phase, and wind and rainfall information complement the forecast. Favourites, search, map view and a calm iPad interface help you quickly find the important gauges again. The app caches data locally so that the most recently loaded information remains visible even when the connection is weak. Features Current water levels with trend and measurement time Tide forecasts with high and low tides Detailed view with reference level, weather, sun and moon Favourites for key gauging stations Map view with gauge markers Search by gauge or body of water Local cache for most recently loaded data Optimised for iPhone and iPad The water level and tidal data displayed in Pegel are sourced from official sources: current water levels and discharges from PEGELONLINE / the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV), German tide and water level forecasts from the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH), Dutch water information from Rijkswaterstaat Waterinfo, and Danish tide and marine data from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI). Weather, sun and moon data are supplemented via Apple WeatherKit. Pegel processes this official data for mobile use, but does not replace official warning and emergency response systems. For safety-related decisions, the relevant official authorities are responsible.
