Just what I needed
Iβve been using this app for years now and still love the functionalities offered!
Great product
Iβve been using this product for sketch taking and note for over four years on an everyday basis up to 14 appointments a day for my business and itβs been great yes it has some limitations but there is no other product that I found that allows flexibility of not with photos moving it around anywhere on the page then placing notes and moving those anywhere around on the page like this program I hope the developers keep up with their updates and this product continues in the marketplace thanks heaps

Mediocre, average
Nothing remarkable or different, no special features or anything unique that makes it stand out or shine amongst the dozen of other similar apps. I did find this a little complicated and confusing on how to navigate and figure out what was what, so it wouldn't be ideal for someone who isn't tech savvy.

Must have app for lectures
Pen and Paper is the best app for PDF note-taking due to the slide notes feature. This adds extra lines to the side of the pdf pages for easier notes which can then be exported easily to other apps. The new import screen added in the latest update is great as well. Definitely worth the money spent and thanks to the developer for creating such a great feature which I could not find anywhere else on the App Store :)

Love the app, worth the money!
Below average note taking app
Bought this to take notes at university. Really unhappy with the fact you can only write/draw with a fountain pen which personally makes my writing look scruffy. Also unhappy with the fact you cannot zoom in when writing meaning itβs quite difficult to write with the Apple Pencil. Would not have bought if I knew you could not change pen type or zoom in.

Best all in one sketch/journal/photos app
Had this app on my phone for quite a while thinking it was mainly a sketch app. After looking for a dream journal app, and not finding any that worked well and would allow you to mix text, scalable photos, objects and sketch all in one. I tried this app and wow, it is GREAT for that.
So I had this dream about a beluga whale jumping out of the water into my arms and the two of us walking around a seaside town with him asking to go into a shop or hang out in a park. Within this app using its text feature I wrote down the dream. Then I went on the Internet and found some photos of beluga whales that I saved to camera roll and added them into this journal entry. I then sketched a stick figure holding a little whale. The whole funky looking journal entry is able to be emailed as a PDF plus it supports exports to Dropbox, iCloud and more. It rocks!

Great app....but
This my go to app for writing with my Apple Pencil. Love how the app performs. Just one complaint. Maybe I overlooked it but their is no way to create a password for Books like my personal journal. Seems like an obvious feature. I'd like to rate this app with 4.5 stars but can't so I gave it 4 stars.

I want a better variety of colors! That's literally it! Just make like a more colors option, plz! But other than that, it's a great app

Great app----except please allow for notes to switch sides for page notes.

Neat app
This is a neat app. You can do so much with it. With the large expansion capability you can write hidden messages. I wrote a whole message inside one square on the graph paper.
It does all it claims.

Nice, but...
Battery hog on iOS 10 beta. I looked at it for 5 minutes, and it used 5% of my battery usage for the 24 hour period. Not good! May be just the beta, but still...

This tool has everything and is so easy to use. I'm not a friend of the developer, I'm just a very impressed user.
Feature rich handwriting and text note taking
Really like its interaction with iOS Pasteboard.
Very nice UI, continuous pages and dual page mode. Almost infinite zoom in editing and freely mixing sketching, text and images makes it fun to use.
Ability to rotate canvas would be a nice addition #when added in a future update.

Pen and paper app
This is a great app. Works flawlessly with iPad and pen. I highly recommend it. The best and easiest writing and simple app our there.

I like this app because it strikes a balance between the apps designed for quick note taking and the ones designed for complicated work.
Many of the apps designed for quick work have some limitation -- notes cannot exceed one page, there is no zoom feature, the notes cannot be stored in collections, etc.
Many of the apps designed for more detailed work have so many features, or features so complex or requiring so much set up, that you might not be inclined to grab one of them just to make a simple note on the fly.
Pen and Paper has just enough features for both simpler and more complicated work. With it, you can use your handwriting, type, insert, pan and zoom, import, share, and store.
There is no "zoom box" at the bottom of the page, but the pan and zoom feature is very good and includes an autoscrolling capability, so, your handwriting can be clear and readable (even on the iPhone). Because the app can be set for autoscrolling, the pages don't pick up stray marks from your fingers when the pages moves along as you write.
Typed notes can be centered or either left or right aligned, and inserted shapes can easily be made into text boxes.
The app works on both the iPad and the iPhone, and you can sync data between devices via the cloud. Cloud sharing can be selective, which means that you can keep more private documents off the cloud at the same time that you can share other ones.
