About
A little more empathy for how others see.
Percevia provides an educational simulation of how colors may change with different color vision characteristics.
Point the camera at the world around you or choose a photo or video, switch between color vision types, and compare the result with the original.
Features:
• real-time camera simulation;
• photo and video viewing without network uploads;
• tap the camera button for a photo, hold it to record video;
• protanomaly, deuteranomaly, and tritanomaly;
• protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia;
• achromatomaly and achromatopsia;
• three calculation models: Machado 2009, Viénot 1999, and Brettel 1997;
• multiple severity levels;
• instant comparison with the original.
Percevia grew out of something personal. My father lived with color vision deficiency, and my wife’s father and our son live with it too. It became my way to understand their view of the world a little better, and to feel closer to them. Perhaps it resonates with someone in your life, too.
All media is processed only on your device; a result reaches your photo library only when you save it yourself.
The simulation is an approximate visualization. A mathematical model cannot fully represent another person’s subjective perception. Percevia is not intended for medical diagnosis.
