I find the components of this app to be useful and easy to navigate. It has everything we would need if we faced another disaster. Definitely a must have for those who like to prep.

Recommending Perci to our clients and partners
As Perci users ourselves, we recommend Perci also to our clients and partners simply based on the fact that Perci is providing the first integrated disaster and emergency solution encompassing an app for communication and information sharing and alerting together with fully equipped vests is really wonderful. Perci needs to be implemented worldwide and in areas with high risks in particular. Perci allows individuals and families to increase likelihood to survive, worry less and help others better. In addition, responsible employers should provide Perci as a perk to their employees and families, hence can also demonstrate they really care. I hope there will be wide adoption as disaster and emergency management has arrived in the 21st century.

With global warming and other anomalous weather patterns, disaster occurrences are on the rise globally. This app has comprehensive preparedness plans, alerts and updates, and a user-friendly interface. Looking forward to its wider adoption and usefulness in equipping us with tools to tackle calamities.

The Disaster Preparedness App I Didn’t Know I Needed
Perci is an informative and user-friendly app that provides information and tools to help you prepare for a natural or man-made disasters. It starts with a location-based risk assessment that uses information from FEMA and Harvard studies to identify potential disaster risks and disaster preparedness of your local community. The list of disasters was longer than I expected, but all were relevant to our location. Next, the app offers information and “readiness plans” to help you prepare for potential disasters. A few examples include calculating emergency water and food needs for extended power outages or sheltering in place; pet safety during emergencies; practicing turning the water and gas off at your house; creating a packing list in case of evacuation; and creating defensible space around your home if you live in an area prone to wildfires. The app also includes an emergency alert section, however there were no alerts at the time of this review.
A unique feature of the app is a messaging tool that allows you to send a message to contacts of your choice with just a few clicks. You either click “I am safe” or “I am NOT safe,” add optional notes and hit send. It allows you send a blast out to people you trust to let them know you are either safe or need help.
Some of these resources are still in development or are only available through a paid subscription, so I was not able to test all of the features. This is a new app, and I imagine additional features will be made available as updates are made.
The app pairs with the Perci Vest, which is basically a wearable “go bag” that contains essentials that may be needed during a disaster or rapid evacuation. Items such as water purification tablets, face mask, whistle, first aid supplies, flashlight, multi-tool, etc. are all stored in compartments in the vest. My only complaint is that there is only one color option (black/red).
As a former Boy Scout, our motto was “Be Prepared,” and I have always felt a need to be ready for anything that we might encounter on the trail or on the water. This app has increased my knowledge (esp. preparedness around the home) and offers useful tools that take much of the guesswork out of emergency preparedness. I recommend the Perci app to anyone that values self sufficiency and preparedness; and wants to stay safe and keep their loved ones safe in an emergency.

Educational
Perci really opened our eyes to the risk of disaster for our home area and the types of disasters for which we might need to prepare. But where to start? Perci does all the work for us, categorizing and organizing information on all the things we may need to consider. Including cataloguing our family’s possessions and citing our home specifics for insurance claims - brilliant! It gives a quick way within the app to communicate across our family that we each are safe - love this! Helps us create an evacuation plan and school safety plan to educate our young children, so that they too are prepared. And even considers a pet safety plan for our furry child. We particularly like the Special Needs planning section, as this is a consideration for our family. We highly recommend Perci to ease your family’s mind for when the unexpected occurs!
