Works great for a day or two

After a few basic questions, the app quits working unless to set up a pay as you go account. With all the free options, this severely limits the utility of this app. Great idea, horrible follow thru

There aren’t many apps that I LOVE

But Percy is one of them! I haven’t found many apps that I genuinely use on the reg, but I’m super thankful for this one. Wonderful responses, easy interface, custom tone abilities, Siri integration and Apple Watch functionality are just a few of the amazing features. The developer of the app is responsive to the users and stays on top of the changing landscape, which is a critical during a time when AI is literally taking over the world, and the technology around it is so ambiguous. I love that I was able to purchase it for a one time fee, and then integrate it with my API key. 🍾 ***My only complaint is the crash during longer conversations, which I tend to have 99% of the time. I have read where this is being worked on, so I’m hoping that fix comes sooner than later. 😬 but regardless, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars all the way.

Worked and then pffft

This apparently uses ChatGPT to understand what you say to it and to give you answers. You can scan in a page from a book and it will summarize that page. It will boil a full page down to a single paragraph, intelligently extracting the main points and rewriting them in its own words. You can ask questions about anything except perhaps the latest current events, and it will give you answers. I have not tested it for political bias, although I know that AIs that are based on chatGPT will have a strong prejudice towards the political left, rather than being neutral. Unfortunately, it would answer only a few questions and then demanded an API key , which I assume is only available to paid users of chatGPT. Very little information or help is provided within the app itself.

They have it right this time, hopefully it will become my new favorite app.

When replying to my question, there are multiple sequences, and I need to copy the entire reply, but I can only copy one paragraph, which is more troublesome.

The best ChatGPT API app

Nice interface and features. Siri and Apple Watch support is appreciated. The only flaw is the inability to select and copy text from the responses. You can copy an entire response, but can’t select just a few words of the response.

Edit: Percy has crashed a few times while receiving a response from the API. 😩

Hi and thanks for the review! The crash is a known issue and I apologize for that. In the meantime, shorter conversations are more stable. Be on the lookout for a new update and a fix for that crash in longer conversations!

Great and needs work

So, I love the summarize text feature. It works awesome! The AI seems pretty good as well in communication. The one thing I’ve noticed is that the memory isn’t good. I’ve told it my name multiple times. The first time it remembered my name later in the day. I got back a day or so later and he doesn’t remember my name. If this would remember all the information I’ve given it, it would truly be the best AI I’ve seen. I don’t know if that is a program error, or if it’s just the way it is.

Doesn’t seem to work

I generated my own API key from OpenAI and their site shows the “last used time” updating, so Percy is definitely connecting, but won’t respond no matter what I ask. Nothing on the network blocking requests.

Doesn’t work at all

Added my API token and tried both GPT 3.5 and 4. Neither worked. Just kept getting a loading spinner. No instructions or error messages. Not worth the effort.

Doesn’t work

This app only shows infinite circling loader and a share button. I even paid 20$ for the first month for pro version - still nothing.

GOT-4 not working?

Not bad interface wise to the ChatGPT from OpenAI. However, when choosing GPT-4, I didn’t get any results, just a title and a spinning wheel. Fix that and this app can easily earn 5 ⭐️.

App Does Not Work

Downloaded app, updated with my API, and tried asking many questions. The app / AI does not respond and simply displays the rolling donut of slow-waiting death. There is no way provided to contact app support, so I thought I might write a review to generate some kind of response.

Hello and apologies for the issue you are having. The infinite wheel of death you are experiencing is because there is something wrong with the way you have your OpenAI account set up. It likely is not set up to be pay as you go or you have reached your max quota for your account. Please visit https://platform.openai.com/account/billing/limits and verify your limit has not been reached. This is not very clear in the app right now but will be in a future update.

It says I’m missing an api key when I know I got one, can’t find any info on it. Save you money avoid this.

Its pretty good but need some fixes

Everything works when the api is set to 3.5 turbo however, when it set to 4 then its stuck on loading with no response generated. Besides that everything works great!

Edit: now noticing a lot of crashing. It seems to be if the chat reaches a certain length then it will constantly crash when trying to respond to a new message. So after a bit its best to just start a whole new conversation.
