About

Permit to License helps new drivers and supervising adults track practice driving time without accounts, cloud sync, or unnecessary complexity. What it does: - Start and stop drives with one tap. - Track total practice time. - Separate day and night driving time. - Add a supervising adult to each drive. - Capture parent or guardian approval with a PIN. - Review your driving history in a clean logbook. - Export a PDF or CSV for your records. Optional features: - Track Drive Locations to save a route map for each drive. - Find Missed Drives to help identify recent drives you forgot to log. Privacy first: - No account required. - No cloud sync. - No tracking. - No advertising. - Your driving logs stay on your device. - You choose when to export or share your records. Permit to License is a personal tracking aid for organizing supervised driving practice. It is not an official DMV, BMV, or government app. Driving requirements vary by state, so confirm your local rules before submitting any driving log.

What's New in Permit to License

1.1

October 26, 2026

What’s New in 1.1 Reports for your state • Exports now follow your state’s own driving log or certification form — same columns, same order, same signature lines — for 46 states and Washington, D.C. Easy to copy onto the official form if your DMV needs it. • Pick your state to see the name of its official form and a link to your state’s DMV page. • Approved drives fill in the supervising adult’s initials automatically. • Add your learner’s permit number in Settings for states that ask for it. More accurate night hours • Night minutes are now counted minute by minute, using where you actually drove. • Fixed: drives that crossed sunset could count zero night minutes. • Fixed: sunset times were off for some locations. • Ohio, Michigan, New Hampshire and Vermont count night from 30 minutes after sunset — the app now does too, with a note explaining it. • Pending drives are recalculated once with the improved math. Approved drives are never changed. Next-stage hours • North Carolina (Level 3) and Iowa (intermediate license): start the next stage in Settings to track its extra hours separately. Other improvements • Live drive map now has a button to re-center on your location. • More reliable route tracking when starting a drive. • Times always print with AM/PM. As always: no account, no tracking — your log stays on your phone.
