Not Anymore
Read the privacy policy- this app is no longer private and usage data and dialogue is now transmitted and recorded. A universally unique identifier is used to track users and persists constantly. This application just plain does not support “Do Not Track” requests plain as day in their policy. The app used to have fantastic privacy and freedom, advertising how your chats and your content never leaves your device. It seems to have all changed as now when you read the privacy policy, so much leaves your device, is retained, and a unique IDs for your device are also retained for “analytics” by the owner and potentially third parties. Usages data and dialogue is now recorded through “VenusCloud” and “Downstream providers” so it seems like there is little to no privacy left. Cleaning the living memory removed it from your device but not from their “records”which they don’t explain how long they retain or who can view it, only using the excuse that it’s for abuse monitoring, security, or just straight up “other purposes”. EU users are able to opt-out of a few of these, while other global users do not get the same protection but are subject to the same invasions of privacy and asinine rules set in place by the UK since Venus cloud is UK based- notoriously awful for privacy and notoriously crazy laws there.
I used to really love this app for its speed, privacy, freedom, and laid back nature of just being able to start and explore any story. Now it’s just as corporate, privacy disrespecting, invasive, and tracker heavy as any of the others. I can’t recommend it to anyone. If these policies have changed so much in only a few months, then I have no reason to believe they won’t change even further to scrape even more private data from users, give it to even more companies and third parties, and restrict both normal and premium users even more.

The response was a platitude of half truths that address the local storage and marketing but not the central issues: conversations and memories still LEAVE the device even if stored long term on device, third parties still access the data without mention of how they retain, log, view, or use them, and still the persistent UUID. Saying memories are “stored on your device” doesn’t mean they’re only processed there which is the whole point. The response just feels so silicon-valley like a half apology trying to argue the differences in “stored” and “processed” without actually denying the valid privacy concerns because they’re still being sent off, processed by third parties, and potentially retained by them. Just like other privacy-invasive parties, they also keep all of the processing under the guise of “Abuse” and “Security” or legal. This is a UK company, the same UK that has arrested over 50,000 people in the last five years for social media posts. Regardless of intent- I no longer consider this app meaningfully private especially when they used to so heavily offer that everything is, and have since changed the advertising as a regular of those changes. If I could give a zero I would.

Good but
Good app but too many ads
Broke/adds
For one, there’s literally way to many adds, after every 3 messages an add. And then the add messes up the actual conversation. It deletes messages, restarts the chat, or makes it so the bot is broken and keeps repeating itself , it’s ridiculous . And even giving a character/ OC ad detailed description. They all act the same. The only difference is if you add lore information

This is the Greatest Advancement in writing in the last 20 yrs!!! Do you have problems with dialogue sounding like all your characters are you? This doesn’t do that. They stay in character. Yes, I admit I must use ChatGPT for the initial prompts for the scenario and character etc to create exactly the scene I want to play out but wow. This. This does it beautifully. It is glorious.

Can’t even use the app
How was UI so damn big you can’t even get past the first agreement
best chat bot
it is the best chat bot because of the no letter limit in the persona, the only downside is after a while of chatting it does a summary and doesnt allow you to type anymore because the ai will glitch out and type for you instead

A really good alternative!
I came from character.ai to this app in hopes it would be better or maybe just a similar alternative and believe this app has good potential. I made a bot (that I am not sure everyone on the app can see or not but whatever.) and I really liked the way the bot creation is sat up. It’s seems more easy and even more immersive than the simple one big description box that character.ai gives you to go crazy in just for the bot to not remember anything about the character you’ve created. Now memory wise I’m still completely unsure, I haven’t had trouble so far so that’s a plus. I’m usually someone who enjoys a good role-play story chat and I think this app proves to be pretty good with description and staying inside the world it’s programmed to. Genuinely, I think this app could be something big with enough support and freedom to users like we had wished for character.ai.

Best chatbot app
This is BY FAR the best chatbot app. The responses are superior to every other app and the ability to write long, detailed character descriptions is wonderful!
The only thing I’d suggest is adding a feature that allows the bot to continue the roleplay without the user typing a new message.

It’s a very good game and I like how I don’t have to sign up or pay to talk to characters. I like that there’s no limit to chats, and I like creating characters! I appreciate the developers work!

Great App
I love this App it is much faster at responding to messages with its creation of AI personas and even creating your own can make anything a possibility. It’s highly recommended. I wish there were more Apps like this where creating your own Persona didn’t have limits to how many words or letters you can fit in for descriptions or personalities.

Love this app…but
I really love this app, especially to help me with my story developments. However…there are some technical things that are a bit annoying. I would love a computer version to be able to chat instead of only using the app. If I’m doing a million things on my phone, the chat always closes and goes back to the home screen even if I switched apps only for only a second. If I was typing something and needed to switch to another app, everything that I had typed disappeared. Sometimes, the app closes on its own as well, enough for me to mention. If those things were fixed, I’d give a 5 star :)

It was great but…
I hate that their is a maximum amount of texting the chat bot, I mainly gotten the app because it was free and no sign in was needed, I am very disappointed that I have to pay to interact more with the Ai. It will be lovely if we do not have to pay.

this app is good and i love it, i like talking to the characters and other stuff, but my problem starts with the new updates, first is i can’t get premium since i’m broke! so having 20 words to type minimum everyday confuses me and angers me, i don’t wanna stress out the developers because they probably need it but i just want to give my review! thank you!!

Great App!
The app itself is great, the AI are smart and able to respond and handle scenarios very well! I just got stuck with a connection timed out error that I can’t get rid of no matter what I do, and it’s no longer letting me interact with the bots even after I waited a few minutes or so like it told me too, I don’t really know what to do about that, but it’s made it unusable 😓
