Blows other presentation apps outa the water!

PowerPoint, Keynote, and Prezi can’t do presentations like this!
Being able to easily animate data visuals in the presentation saves hours of time than PowerBI, Qlik, or Tableau at a fraction of the cost.
Good to see indie developers outperform the old “productivity” apps.

Download for Dediu

No reviews in the last 4 years. Huh. Well 4 years later, Horace is even more of a legend than before.

Hope to see more investment and growth in this soon.

Doesn't Work

How come?!

The future of data-rich storytelling

Watch the examples in the app. Asymco has been leading the way with great examples.

Disappointing

The idea is great and I had/have high hopes.

But it’s confusing and difficult to use. It also seemed to glitch out and wouldn’t allow for re-login after I upgraded to Pro.

Turns out I had to re-download and they charged me twice, for which I am actively pursuing a refund.

I’m a fan of Dediu, I went to the Airshow and I believe in the concept of Perspective. But it’s been a rough experience so far unfortunately.

IPad only

Great idea but it doesn't work on iPhone.

Great App and Service

it's pretty amazing to be able to use an app that you click with. Looking forward to great things to come from this app and company.

It works just as it says and actually the more.

Great app

I've been using this to watch Horace Dediu from Asymco's perspective presentations now that its finally come to the iPhone. Absolutely blown away by how great it is. I see why Horace is excited about it. Will definitely be looking to get the authoring kit when I have a need to create a presentation like this.

Question

Who do you erase a powerpiont? Because I didn't buy the pro because it cost 49.99 and I don't have that much money!

… towards "Knowledge Navigator"

I set aside some pretty serious time to play with this app and am really impressed with what founder Farshad Nayeri and his team at Pixxa have created in Perspective...

— a fantastic iPad only tool to author (create) and present (distribute) clear, concise and highly visual stories (well, they're more like 'experiences') using data

— a full 'platform' (consisting of a versatile application + robust backend infrastructure) to distribute/deliver those stories in a variety of ways

— core technology that enables authors / educators / presenters and their intended audiences (delivered either live-in-the-room or to iPads after-the-fact) to physically interact and explore data in highly engaging and visually interactive ways (simply by touching the iPad screen)

It's not for everyone.

— you need to be chill with the obvious constraints of "iPad only" authoring but you can use a variety of other tools and platforms to create and collect all the assets you need for inclusion within a Perspective presentation / "experience".

— my guess is that early adopters and innovators in the graphic & visual arts, educational/ontological design (you know, those TED-type story tellers ;) and corportate communications & training fields will embrace this puppy in fairly short order. Not everyone will author with it... but everyone can consume, experience, share, replay and present Perspective content and experiences that are created by others (authors, specialists, scientists, experts, sales trainers, instructors, gurus, etc.)

Perspective goes way beyond what Keynote and PowerPoint can (and should) do for telling highly interactive, engaging and easily distributable stories based on complex data. I think it's destined to become the defacto iPad app (and platform) for creating, telling and distributing these kinds of stories to iPads far and wide (as well as "real-time-live" by presenters in rooms — whether they were the original authors of the content or not).

Call me crazy but I think what Pixxa has done here goes more than a couple of giant steps forward towards what Apple originally envisioned in that "Knowledge Navigator" video produced oh so many years ago… or at least, towards key elements of it.

I'm still waiting for flying cars and meals-that-come-in-pill-form but Perspective comes pretty close ;)

— a fantastic iPad only tool to create (author) and present (deliver) clear and concise highly visual stories and 'experiences' using data (big data or any data)

— a full platform play (consisting of a versatile application + a back-end distribution infrastructure) to deliver those stories in a variety of powerful ways

— core technology that enables authors / educators / presenters and their intended audiences (either live-in-the room or delivered after-the-fact to iPads anywhere) to physically interact with visual elements of a Perspective presentation (by touching the iPad) in hugely engaging and interactive ways

It's not for everyone. You need to be chill with the obvious constraints of "iPad only" authoring but you can use a variety of other tools and platforms to create any assets you like that will end up in a Perspective presentation / "experience".

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like this app! It works and it is the only one I found that I was able to find out how to use easily! Once you download it, you first get sort of confused, but after about 5 min u get the hand of it. I use it for my class presentations and its awesome!!!!!!!!

Great Looking App / Small Detail Missing

The app looks beautiful and definitely fills in a large gap that is missing in the mobile presentation space. I am seeing the same thing as Baily_Loves_Monster_Trucks (great name btw), there is no create a story button :(

Once that is fixed I am excited to try its additional features. Keep up the great work.

Useful content, good delivery

I find the selection of presentations useful for technology strategy. The delivery on an iPhone 4S is good, with relatively low impact on battery even when watching a 30 minute session. I'd like to see a progress indicator relative to the whole presentation though, not just for each individual slide.

How does it work?!

I watched the presentation that tells you what to do and it showed me how to make a presentation......but I looked and I it didn't show the little add sign!! What do I have to do?!?!?!

Confusing pricing and content ownership

As far as I could tell, after paying $20 for the authoring kit, you're limited to a certain number of presentations you can create. You have to be connected to the Internet for creation and presentation. Also, read their terms and conditions carefully about who actually owns the presentations you create. From my reading, they do... not you. 5 stars for nice presentations, subtract 4 stars for business model.

Great Product - Looking forward to some specific improvements

My only suggestion for improvement is the ability to move to different part of a audio-visual presentation without loosing linkage and to be able to stop and return where I left off versus restating.

I have gotten "check you internet connection" for about five days

This is on the Featured Stories page. So new stories cannot be downloaded.

Giving useless errors

Can't download from the web link, can't get the "featured" section to load. Nothing but "check your Internet connection" errors and my connection is fine. What's the deal?

The future of education

This app takes advantage of everything I hoped my iPad could be. Nicely done.
