Not working

Downloaded the app. Created account. Was able to log in on my computer but not the app. Garbage!

Log in won’t work

So I cant log into the app! I have changed my password and nothing works!! I only can log into my account via web browser! So annoying!

Great Microchip; App not for Owners

I love petlink. It is a solid microchip. I had bad experiences with other microchips that wanted payment to use or that had repeatedly fallen out. Petlink is free after implant and has a great UI.

Note: Petlink is a microchip, not a tracker. All the bad reviews are from people who just don’t know how to use correctly what they purchased or don’t understand WHAT they bought. Microchips find lost pets only if they are brought into a vet for scanning and and they should be checked that they are still in your pet during regular checkups.

I am sad that the app is only for professionals (they should embed the website features in the app so it can also have a customer-facing side). But for anyone curious, the website is great and where you should go to update your pet information and file for a missing pet.

why can’t we change the info for our own pets

downloaded this just to ask why we can’t track our own pets? my fiancés cat was chipped under a dif company and they have an app he can use to track him himself. i would love if there was one for pet owners to use before we would have to claim the cat missing. be more convenient for us and staff id assume, who deal with missing animals all day. also i used to be able to have access and now it’s for pros? why the change? no explanation? i was told to use this app by my vet and now it isn’t even downloadable, then i come on here to find out it’s been switched to vets only? i’d love to have had a notification or something. update: i realize and understand mine did not come with a tracking option, BUT i need to be able to change her photos and my address myself without a vet trip. esp since a vet literally gave this option to me and it was taken away and switched up for no reason, make ur own app for pros lol lemme have my cats info on here

Microchip information

A microchip is NOT a tracking device. I repeat, a microchip is NOT a tracking device.
A microchip is implanted into your animal for proof of ownership and identification. You register your pet online through pet link. This is your pets “social security number”. Please update your information every time you move, change phone numbers or rehome your pet.
1) do not post online for other people to see
2) do not put the number on your pets tags, simply put “I am microchipped”
3) add your veterinary clinics number to your pets tag.
4) if your pet is stolen or lost please contact your microchip company and local vet clinics immediately.

While some of you may be frustrated that this app is for veterinary staff and shelter staff. Please understand that the wrong person could do a lot a mischief.
Once again a pets microchip is NOT a tracking device but a form of identification. Please contact your local veterinary clinic if you have questions.
If you are looking for a tracking device whistle is a very good one. Please keep in mind that there is no tracking device that will be implanted in your animal. All tracking devices go on a collar or harness which can be easily broken off or thrown away by the animal or a thief. You cannot legally remove a microchip.
Sincerely,
A vet tech.

FAQ

What does the PetLink Pro app do?

The PetLink Pro app is a mobile tool for US animal professionals, such as Animal Control Officers and shelter staff. It allows them to quickly look up owner information for lost pets by scanning or entering their microchip number. The app also enables users to submit found pet reports directly to PetLink for owner notification and reunification.

How can I look up a pet's microchip number?

You can enter the microchip number into PetLink Pro using your phone's keypad or by speaking the number. Additionally, the app features a camera function that allows you to capture the microchip number directly from the LCD display of a microchip reader, which is faster and reduces typing errors.

What information can I access about a found pet?

If a lost pet is registered in PetLink, the app can display a photo of the pet to help confirm identification. It can also show available medical details, such as if a pet has a condition like diabetes requiring regular medication, which is crucial for their health and care.

Is PetLink Pro available for the general public?

No, the PetLink Pro app is specifically designed for US Animal Professionals, including Animal Control Officers and shelter staff. It is intended for use in the field when encountering lost pets and requires professional credentials to access its full functionality.

How does the app help reunite pets with their owners?

The app speeds up the reunification process by allowing animal professionals to immediately look up owner details via a pet's microchip. Once a found pet report is submitted, PetLink contacts the owner through SMS, phone, and email to arrange for the pet's return, significantly increasing the chances of a quick and safe reunion.
