Terrible functionality

The concept and idea are great! But the app is ugly and very far from functional/easy to use. The pop ups are ridiculous! The menus don’t make much sense. I tried to overlook annoying features as I went through since the concept was so neat, but after I tried to search playmates it came up with at least 6 different pop ups I had to click through. Then I clicked on someone and when I went to hit the back button to go back to the list, it bumped me back to the start to do the million pop up screens all over again?! No way was I doing that just to get the list again. After one time through this app, I won’t be using it again. It could be such a great app/idea, but the design of this app needs a very serious overhaul!

Good concept but needs work

This is a great concept. The app is laid out well and easy to use. However I have to give it three stars because it signs you out every time you close it (and it’s a pain to log back in every time). It also doesn’t give you notifications when someone sends you a chat message. So unless you check the app every day, you may not know you have a message.

Thanks NYYRule! (1) Notifications on incoming chats do take place. By default we send both a phone push notification and an email message to your registered email address when you receive a new chat. Note that the app asks for Notifications permission when it runs for the first time. If you are not receiving notifications then you might have responded with a “No” to that request causing Notifications Permissions to be off. Please check your app permissions settings and re-enable notifications from PettingClub. (2) Log-off: We had this bug in version 4.0.0 , but it is fixed since version 4.5.0 ( released in March 2019 ). PettingClub will keep your session and not log you off for two weeks. An exception: If your session was authorized by a Facebook login and Facebook expired it, then you will also be logged off from PettingClub because we query Facebook for the session’s status.

Great app for meeting new four-legged friends

This app delivers on the promise of putting you in contact with people who have pets around you. I’ve used it many times to organize walks with my Stella and neighbor dogs. The real power is critical mass in an area where the user can be alerted to new meet ups.
The addition of being able to check in at popular parks seems like a great way to easily identify others before approaching.
Excited to see it continue to evolve!

Cannot Verify

Signed up - received the email for verification and the link does not work. Tried through the app to contact them about the issue and the send button doesn't work either. I would give 0 stars if I could. Disappointed.

Unfortunately, we had a problem that lasted few hours on Aug 24 and people that tried to sign up that night received a faulty link. We were notified of the outage in the morning and it was fixed within one hour. I saw your comment on FB and responded to you twice during that hour, first thanking you and acknowledging the problem and right when we fixed it. We wish you and your furkids best of adventures. Dang this is so bad

Good idea but the app doesn't work. Weird because I followed an ad from Facebook to download it - why are you wasting money on advertising a broken product? Anyways. Consistently says it is "fetching an update and must restart" then just freezes.

App doesn't work at all past "logging in with Facebook". None of the buttons work and it crashes every time I try and use it.

Great app for pet socialising

This is a great app for getting to know other pet owners in your area. You can find and arrange walks or doggie play dates. In your own area, or if you go somewhere new and you want to walk with other dogs it is easy to use.
The only downside is most of users are in the states, but hopefully as people discover how useful this app is more people all over the world will use it.
