Time seems to pass so quickly when you’re working up an idea with Phase Chimes. It’s a fun sketchbook and comes highly recommended if you are after an alternative way of working.

Can’t put it down
Simple to start playing with, but with a surprising amount of depth in being able to create polyrhythmic melodies, which I’ve been using as the basis for my music.
The app is actually kind of amazing. The best way I can describe it is that it’s both a tool for making music and an instrument, but a super intuitive instrument that somehow teaches you (unintentionally?) music theory and how polyrhythms and polymeters work. And now when I drop words like “Mixolydian” and “Dorian” into conversation I actually know what they mean.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I just released a bugfix for this problem. Make sure you're updated to version 1.0.2. That should fix it! I'm very sorry that you lost some work. That's obviously unacceptable. I test thoroughly for problems like these but this one slipped through unfortunately. Meditation
I love the app. I’m not a professional musician so I’m just experimenting wildly :) And I’m using their Factory | Higgins Beach with settings G minor 2, instrument Phex for meditation :D

Super cool!
Really fun and intuitive to use. Great for creating unique rhythmical and melodic patterns either in a live setting or for recording or sampling in a studio.

This app has great potential, but please, please add “Probability” to the gears so we can have some randomness to whether a gear plays its note or not. Also, can we have lots of AU parameters exposed for midi control in AUM please?

Thank you for your input! A probability function of some kind is on the list of future features, as well as exposing AU params. Currently, you can change between scenes by sending in MIDI notes C2-G2.
