A good try, but ultimately of no use to me
I can find no way of using it with iPhone 12 … because of the camera layout … and it seems unstable when using the iPad Pro 9.7”. __ Worst of all, however, is that [obviously] it is not reading Atrial signals, but my fingertip pulse … My pacemaker is dictating that rate, not the Atria !!
Free for abnormality detection
I don’t know yet how accurate it is but most other heart monitors charge extra if you want anything other than basic heart rate. This app offers more for free. But unfortunately half the time i use it it just doesn’t work, stays the toilet over and over even though i’m not moving
Fantastic App
I have had AF over 10 years and suffered a major stroke 9 years ago.
This app easily detects any incidences of AF (if you put your finger over the right bit of the camera).

Won’t even manage to get a 30 second reading without resetting over and over.

It’s hard to believe they even have this on the App Store. It’s broke.
Doesn’t work on newer iPhones
Will not work on iPhones with multiple cameras because you have to put your finger over the cameras and the flashlight simultaneously which is impossible to do. Worthless if you have a new iPhone.
Reliable
Since I do not feel anything when I go into AFib, I have found Photo AFib to be a reliable detector in my two and half years of using the app.
Update May 2019: After a year and half of being in sinus rhythm, the app immediately detected that I had gone into AFib. That allowed me to be treated by cardioversion the next day. The app worked accurately before, during and after the AFib episode.
Update April 2021: Does not work on my new iPhone SE2. Keeping my old SE just to run Photo AFib Detector.

Die trying
This can be difficult to use. Sometimes will not give a basic reading. Not good when you are concerned with your heart.
Screen writing messed up
Is there an update to this app. I have used it for years and it has been great at detecting if I’m in AF. Recently when it gives me results, the screen writing is written on top of itself so you can’t really read it. Just make out if normal or abnormal. A small bug but no updates have been released.

Does not work on iPhone x

What’s Gone Wrong?
This app was working wonderfully well for years. It helped to reassure three people I know with atrial fibrillation who used it daily or whenever they were concerned they might be out of rhythm.
All of a sudden, and not following any software update, it has become unreliable.
It usually gives the feedback ‘too much interference’.
This has happened with two different people using 3 different phones.
Please, please get this simple app up and running again.

Inaccurate
Used this in an attempt to verify accuracy 10 min pre and post having an Echo Cardiogram which confirmed Dx of Afib

I tried it while I was having an obvious a fib event. It said both that it could not get a reading due to interference, and then still reported that my heartbeat was normal. I repeated the test maybe a dozen times. Did not report accurately once. Useless.

How do you print or send results? Do the developers ever answer these concerns?

I thought this would be a perfect little tool to keep track of my condition but it just does not work. Tried for ages but it restarts/ does not detect. I am ising an iphonex is this commin?
Best app for AFIB that I can find
This works really well and pretty closely matched ECG waveform and readings.
I have used this for more than 6 months and it is very helpful.
You have to practice holding the phone with your finger over the camera and light, and when I upgraded iPhones I had to practice again to get used to where the camera lense and lamp were on the new phone.
Also I have checked it for accuracy multiple times while connected to an ECG in the hospital emergency department !! It is very close to ECG readings... but obviously just a tool to help you, not a medical device.

Doesn’t ever work
Always says too much movement even though I’m perfectly still and quiet. It makes my BP rise cuz I get so mad at it
Added ads. Not dependable
Did work fine but recently it’s all about ads and it does not recognize my finger and keeps starting over. Basically useless. Shame I used to depend on this app. No longer though.
