No added benefit
There is absolutely no additional benefit compared to the regular photo app.

Thanks for your comment. The app allows you to use shared iCloud photo albums in photo widgets. You can also use the app to batch import and export photos or videos to external storage when connected via usb-c port. It will show additional metadata such as timezone of photos for travel photos taken from different timezone. You can also search by date or filename of photo or video files. And you have options to show either name or timestamp directly with photo thumbnails, etc.
