Don’t get it

The film looks terrible unless you hit “enhance,“ but then it gets completely changed. The people look like Hollywood versions of themselves, the cloudy day turns sunny etc. I was hoping for an app that would essentially develop the film and give me the photos.

Response from developer

We want to do our best to help you get great results from your negatives, so we're sorry to hear the experience fell short. Please reach out at support@posifyapp.com and we'll do everything we can to make sure the results meet your expectations. Posify is designed to develop negatives as authentically as possible. The Enhance feature sharpens and corrects the scan, but we understand it can sometimes over-correct when the initial scan quality is low. When the scan is clear and well-lit, the conversion stays much closer to the original scene. A few tips that can improve your base scan: use a bright, even backlight behind the negative, scan in a dark environment to reduce glare, hold your phone steady and close for a sharp capture, and make sure the film strip is clean and flat. We're actively working on improvements to both scanning and processing, with some major updates coming in the next release. We've heard from many users who had great results scanning old family negatives using Posify, and we want the same for you, so please don't hesitate to reach out at support@posifyapp.com.
