Photo Status

When Optimize iPhone Storage is enabled, it can be difficult to tell which photos and videos still have their full-resolution originals stored only in iCloud. Photo Status gives you a clear, local view of your library and helps you bring the originals you choose back onto your device. KNOW WHAT IS AVAILABLE OFFLINE Scan your Photos library to see how many original files are already available on your device and which items still need to be downloaded from iCloud Photos. A simple dashboard summarizes your library status and estimated download size. FIND WHAT YOU NEED Browse missing originals by year and month. Select an entire year, a month, a custom date range, or individual photos and videos, so you stay in control of what gets downloaded. DOWNLOAD WITH CLEAR PROGRESS Photo Status creates a resumable queue and asks Apple Photos to download each selected original. Follow item counts, estimated data progress, transfer speed, completed downloads, and any items that need another attempt. Live Activities and the focused Zen download view make long sessions easy to monitor. BUILT FOR LARGE LIBRARIES Scanning and download progress are saved, so you can return to a large library without losing your place. Local statistics help you understand completed work without requiring an account. PRIVATE BY DESIGN All library analysis happens on your device through Apple Photos APIs. Photo Status does not upload your photo library, run third-party analytics, connect to a separate photo server, or copy originals into its own storage. Your originals remain managed by the Photos app. Photo Status requires access to your Photos library and an iCloud Photos connection to check or download originals that are not currently on your device. Download availability and speed depend on iCloud and your network connection.
