PhotoRenamerS - Photo Renamer

PhotoRenamerS is an offline batch renaming utility that brings inconsistent photo filenames back into a single, chronological order based on when each shot was actually taken. IMG_1234 from a camera, Screenshot_20240501 from a screen capture, a long numeric string from a messenger app. Because every source follows its own naming rule, collecting them in one folder destroys the chronological order. Selecting a single folder is enough: every file is renamed to the 20240501_142345 format and lines up in capture order in any file manager. ■ Main Features - Folder-wide batch processing - Every photo and video inside the chosen folder is handled in one pass, with no per-file selection. - EXIF capture time first - The DateTimeOriginal recorded inside the photo is used before anything else, because it is the most trustworthy value available. - Filename pattern parsing - When EXIF is missing, the date is extracted from the filename. Camera prefixes, screenshots, KakaoTalk, Unix timestamps and dashed formats can be enabled individually, so you stay in control of false matches. - Controlled extraction order - EXIF, then filename, then file modification date. The first match wins and later steps are skipped. Files with no date at all are left untouched. - Automatic duplicate separation - Files sharing both size and capture time are moved into a subfolder as duplicates. Nothing is deleted, so you can review and clean up yourself. - EXIF write-back - For jpg files with an empty EXIF date, the extracted date is written back, so other photo apps also sort them correctly. - Live processing log - Renamed, kept, duplicate and error results are colour-coded and listed line by line. - Stop at any time - Processing can be interrupted, and everything already completed remains valid. - Broad format support - jpg, jpeg, png, heic and heif images, mp4, mov, 3gp and mkv videos, and cr2, nef, arw and dng RAW files. - Five languages - English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. ■ Your photos never leave the device Photo files and EXIF data are never transmitted to an external server, and all processing is completed locally. There is no sign-up, no login and no cloud connection, and every feature keeps working with the network switched off. ■ Minimum permission principle Access is granted through the system folder picker and limited to the folder you selected.
