Limited ambient amusement

If you have zero musical ability and just want to play around with dreamy ambient soundscapes, this is an app for you. If you want control over things like sounds or chords or key, then you should just graduate to the sequel to this app called Touchscaper.

Abandoned.

The mentioned web page is about coffe mugs.

Oh dear god!

This sounds so relaxing and took me out of my anxiety ridden head it brought me to tears. Thank you so much.

I hope this app is still being developed...

...because I recently bought it and Guitarscaper. I’ve owned the full Moodscaper for several years. I *really* like these apps, so much that I purchased them in spite of not being updated in a long while.

To the developer: I don’t have to have new features, just please don’t let them become outdated or orphaned.

A serious gift

I just absolutely love this and the other scapers this developer has made. I would love to be able to do more with this app. Thank is for everything Rob Jackson!!!🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

Amazing!

An amazing and wonderful generative app which elevates simple touches into broad and varied ambient soundscapes. Well done Rob!

Gorgeous, lush.. fun.. relaxing. Yes. All

Great as a generative relaxation tool, or an inspiring musical instrument anyone can play. Use it alone or with other apps via any inter app audio compatible app. I highly recommend all of the scaper series apps this developer offers. A lot of fun for those who love music.

I love this app…

...along with the other two apps that Rob makes. I have the full version of moodscaper but for the ease of changing sounds I picked up this one as well. I simply open another app and there it is.

This app has so much mood to it that it inspires me to record and then layer. Sometimes I layer more from this app, sometimes from others. Even adding guitar to it. It's just a homerun app. Knocked it out of the park.

Just brilliant

I stumbled across this and Moodscaper after listening to Brian Eno with Adam Buxton. Mr Eno's app was beyond my budget but I can't imagine that it's much more satisfying than these two autogenerative instruments. Hours of pleasure. Also Rob Jackson the developer seems like a great guy. Very helpful.

Pianoscaper sounds gorgeous!

Plug your device into a stereo system and turn up the volume to really appreciate the sound quality of this app! The samples are beautiful! Pianoscaper is perfect for improvising over!

For the reviewer who received the wrong app from the App Store, I'm certain it wasn't the developer's error and so to penalize him with a one star rating is unfair. And for the reviewer who criticizes this app because it sounds like Hearts of Space... that's the whole point - generative, ambient music! I love the ambient music genre and Rob nails it with this app!

Response from developer

Many thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. Sounds like you're enjoying the app in the way I hoped! Please do consider sharing links to your work over on the Facebook page - I always enjoy hearing and sharing music where pianoscaper or moodscaper have being used. Thanks, -Rob

Disappointing

Playback may be different every time, but with the same limited sound set and very little melodic possibility, it quickly becomes very repetitive. Very very limited in what you can do in terms of shaping the sound, pretty much just playing back a set of samples. Not a sound creation tool; more like an ambient sample pack with randomised playback. Sounds like '80s-'90s Hearts of Space music, if that's your thing.

Response from developer

Sorry to hear you're disappointed. The App Store description does actually say that pianoscaper is a sample-based instrument that currently supports two moods / keys, so I'm sorry if that wasn't clear. There are also numerous YouTube demo videos (The Sound Test Room is particularly good) around that would hopefully give you enough of a feel for the overall sound of pianoscaper to help you decide if it was something you might like or not. If you're a potential buyer reading this, please keep this in mind and check out the demo videos, thanks.

In one word: Delicious!

A very simple app to use that provides beautifully relaxing soundscapes with piano at its heart. My only wish is that there was a bit more piano, but I'm very pleased with it otherwise and the price is less than a stop at Starbuck's. Mr. Jackson's other app, Moodscaper, is brilliant too!

A slice of brilliance

Bought this on 'Doug Aid' day, but also because it's a fabulous, inventive app. Just as much fun - and with exquisite sounds - as Moodscaper. If it only had Link so I could set it to auto accompany other apps, it would be an easy 5 stars.
