Flawless app, AMAZING
This app is flawless, great. It is simple and extremely easy to use. This completely deserves 5 stars.
About time! Infant stage but already making adult steps
I downloaded it after seeing it on a friend’s WhatsApp status.
It’s a good thing it’s a light app and doesn’t take up much space and quick to download.
The interface is straightforward and not cluttered. I would’ve loved the icons (on the landing page) to be flat and a little translucent rather than the shadows. Hopefully with time, there will be a dark mode.
Talking about the actual translation, I was impressed with the range of translation especially from pidgin to English. The pidgin pronunciations/voices had me giggling. I think the male voice was the closest to a Nigerian voice but just for some words. When you put other words to translate, the voices sounded like Siri. For example “Na wa oh”. And if you asked the voice to pronounce “Chai”, it did it well in the male voice but if you asked it to pronounce “Chaiii” it would say “Cha three” in Siri’s voice.
Again, I’m very aware this is the infant stages and this feedback is because I’m so excited about this product and really see its potential growing across various languages. It may even add the case for pidgin to be a formal business language.
P.S.: I researched on the founder and noticed he is Cameroonian, but a number of Cameroonian pidgin words were not being translated. Even the accents of the pidgin bots were Nigerian. Hopefully we see that in later versions. Don’t mind me, I’m just another Cameroonian being patriotic 😂
