The color wheel represents the full range of hues. You can transform the wheel by adding color, tint, tone, or shade, then select a harmony scheme (such as complementary, triadic, or analogous) and rotate the wheel to explore related color combinations. I hope you'll consider giving the latest version a try!

Add in own hex values

Is there someway in the free version for me to enter a hex value that I want to start with? Is that available in the paid version?

Thank you for the great suggestion! It took a little longer than expected, but I’m happy to say this feature is now available. The latest version of Pigments Studio supports HEX color input, along with many other improvements including color matching, saved palettes, and a completely redesigned experience. I hope you’ll give it another try!

Not worth the money

You can’t mix the colors can’t use the top tool bar....

Hi Brian, I’m sorry to hear that. Please help me understanding the issue by answering the following questions:  What iPhone or iPad model are you using?  What happens when you select a color? Does the slider appear?  Can you tap on the wheel sector to see the hex code?

I'm sorry you had that experience. The app has been completely redesigned since this review was posted, and it no longer contains ads. I've also made significant improvements to stability, performance, and the overall experience. I purchased this app

I purchased this app, its asking me to restore purchase, but it does nothing. Why am I seeing ads for an app I paid for? Whats going on? I want my money back, this is a scam

Hello! The Pocket Color Wheel app is free to download. You can make in-app purchase to remove the adds. If you previously have made a purchase and reinstalled the app you can restore your purchase. Please make sure you are connected to the internet and logged in to your Apple account in your device settings.

Cool app!

Like another rater said, it’s nice to not be hounded by ads. Kudos to the developer for making this app - it helps highlight color relationships, and lets you tweak colors/saturation/combinations to your hearts content. Kind of makes me feel like a budding Ellsworth Kelly...

It’s nice not to be hounded by ads

I really like the way the developer found a good compromise between showing ads all the time and showing none at all. I don’t like apps that pester you with ads: ads when the app launches, ads that pop as the apps is being used, and ads that take up screen space. I get it the developer needs to get paid and relying on folks to pay for what they like is not a good option. So yeah one video ad every three days is really not a big deal for me.

Ok what I really like pocket color wheel is the intuitive graphical interface. The ui is clean and easy to use. Simple and elegant and invaluable tool.

Annoying

Can’t even use the features without paying 1.99!! If you want to charge for the app do it!! But don’t say it’s free and then not allow the app to be operational until you pay... deleting app...

App is Great - Ads annoying

I think you should just get a fee for this handy app instead of the pay-to-stop-ads trick. Why not charge US$1.99? It is very annoying to have ads interfere and then try to be coaxed into legalized extortion - forcing me to pay to shut off ads. The world has tilted in the favor of advertisers. It is time to swing the pendulum the other way and take our world back from advertisers. They need to stick to static pages and we visit only when we choose - not them.

Pocket Color Wheel

Excellent free app for exploring complementary, split complementary, triad, tetrad and analogous colors on the color wheel. I appreciate being able to modify the color wheel by adding white, grey, black, red, yellow, and blue as well. Fabulous for those just beginning to study color and useful for the more experienced as well. It would be incredible and worth paying for added features like swatch saving, hex and RGB code info for colors, a user controlled tint intensity scale for the various shades of the wheel. Even without the suggested additional features, it's fabulous for a free app. Download it and find out for yourself.
