Not working

I performed a reasonable amount of troubleshooting before posting. It seems this app does not work. I am confident that all of my machine configurations are accurate and that the problem is within the PiHelper app.

No longer works

Connection failed tap to retry message seen when trying ssh. My hunch is that the app doesn’t support the newer and more secure ciphers, cipher suites, and/or other algorithms on devices with up to date OS.

One not so secure option is to edit the Pi to accept and use older ciphers or find a new app.

Was awesome, but now needs some love

This used to be a great app however in iOS 18.5 it doesn’t seem to work either with the password or private key. as of the date of this review the app has not been updated in four years. Here is hoping to develop her will come back and work his or her magic again.

DOA for new OS’s

Was a great clean tool while it worked but recent pi OS updates render the app unusable. Hopefully the dev can update it.

Not updated hence not working

I cannot get this app to connect to my pihole server. Tried everything. Username password, not working. Private key, not working. Always tells me that a connection to my pihole server isn’t working. Philly on the other hand works fine. I wonder if the app is refusing to connect because my pihole blocks adds?! Not paying money for testing. No way. Might have been a great app, but since I cannot test it, I can only give it 1 Star.

update to rp5

pls update the app for support raspberry pi 5.

No longer compatible

Sadly no longer compatible with Bookworm and fails to connect to my Raspberry Pi's. Used to be very useful tool but not anymore.

No longer compatible

App is no longer compatible with Debian (bookworm) and unable to make connection.
App needs to be removed from the App Repo

No Bookworm support

Doesn't work with Bookworm. Used it for years. Have to find something else.

So long!!

It was good while it lasted

No longer works

No longer works on newer OS’s real shame as it was a really good app - abandonware

Not working with the latest RPI versions

Use to be a super utility. Spent tons of time trying to decide what happened to it. Will not connect to the latest PI versions.

Really wish they would update the app. Miss it.

Not working

Doesn’t connect to rpi 5 at all

No longer works with Bookworm

Using the latest Pi OS this no longer works as it uses an older version of SSH. There are work arounds. I have not heard anything from the developer.
Shame as it worked flawlessly for years.
Hopefully they will update it.

App No longer works

This app has been great but ever since Pi OS Bookworm it has stopped working.

fail to connect

tried many time on my MacBook Air (m1) and iPad Air (iOS 17) and nothing to do, i'm alsways stalled there.. so, not working to me..

Not very stable

I liked this for a while because it was the first thing I tried. When I rebuilt one of my machines it would no longer connect even when I deleted the old connection and recreated it. Terminus works better.

No longer works

Looks abandoned. Can’t get it to connect to any of my pi’s

Nice, but abandoned

Nice quick status summary, but clearly abandoned and unmaintained by developer. Last update was 3 years ago as of start of 2024. Still, it works when it works, but in my case it only connects by IP. That is, it can’t find my servers by internal DNS name at the same time other apps on the same iPhone and same network work fine. But because abandoned, this won’t get fixed.

Bookworm changed things

Since the release of Bookworm unless I’m doing something wrong the app no longer works. I can still see connections Pi’s running Bullseye though so not sure why.
