BEST Teacher App

I have been using this app for many years, and I love it!! At the start of each school year, I enter all my classes and students and take student pics. I select “random order” and cover the top of the picture where student names are to quiz myself on their names. This helps me learn names quickly. I can also click “random order” and swipe through my students to randomly call on them during class discussions, games, and activities. Additionally, I use the grouping feature to put students into groups for stations, etc. I like that I can hold down the 3 lines and move students around between groups as needed. Then I can email myself a copy of the groups. I highly recommend this app to all my teacher friends!
Suggestions:
1) Please make it easier to enter class lists. I spend a lot of time at the start of each school year typing in first and last names…I teach high school Spanish and teach 150-180 students each year.
2) I need an option to edit student info. After I’ve entered student names from my roster, sometimes I need to change their name to a preferred nickname. There is no option to edit. So I have to delete the student and re-enter their name. If I’ve already taken their picture, I have to retake their picture after deleting and re-adding.
Thank you!!

Can only use Dropbox to import student lists

This app could be so much better if it would allow uploading of spreadsheets as files, or if it could be connected to Google Drive. Manually entering 130+ new students everyschool year is tedious and makes me not want to use it. Otherwise it could be a very good app.

Very simple to use.

I use the app the make random groups and to randomly choose a student. You have to shake your phone in order for it to pick a student. Very simple to use.

Shake?!

To pick a random student you must SHAKE your device. This is the only way! Might be ok with an iPhone, but not great for iPad users!!

Doesn’t “pik” anyone!

Unfortunately, the latest version apparently eliminated the essential function...you can no longer pick a random student! All you can do is put students into random groups or mark students absent or tardy. Definitely not worth the time to enter all those names!

Why so I have to put in an email address? I teach 3rd grade! Otherwise great idea!

Useful in the classroom

I look forward to using this in my algebra II classes. However, there is no option (that I can find) to delete a class or change its name.

Technical issues

I have tried multiple times to use the cdv spreadsheet to upload my classes. It just won’t work and I’m not going to type each student in individually. Too bad - seemed like it would be good : (

Dropbox Crashes App

When I try to import a CSV file from Dropbox, the app crashes. I tried many times and none of them were successful.

Potentially great

I like the look, structure and potential of this app a lot, and was excited to use it in my class, but unfortunately the shake gesture to randomise pupil names doesn't respond well for me: I have to shake extremely vigorously for anything to happen. Shaking is much more responsive on other apps - is there something wrong with the sensitivity? Also would be good if the order of the list of classes could be changed on the main menu after you've created them.

Dropbox error message

Same issue. Error message while attempting to import class rosters from Dropbox.

Error Message With Dropbox

I'm trying to link with my Dropbox on my iPhone and I'm getting an error message that states:

Error authorizing app

An error has occurred authorizing your app. Please try again.

Any suggestions???

Helpful video

The app does just what I need it to do for my high school English classes. It could use some built instructions because some of the functions are not intuitive. The video mentioned on the app info helped, but it needed voiceover. To be practical for high school teachers the instructions need tk be clear.

Ok for the price, simple lists

I was looking for an app to keep class lists & create groups. For being free, this is an ok app. However, once you create a class you can't edit the title or remove the entire class. Also, don't make the mistake if using a slash(/) in the title or you won't be able to add any students to the class. One other disappointment is that you can't assign students to groups. It automatically creates the groups by randomly assigning students. Lastly, I was hoping I could see a list of ALL students from all classes and it cannot do that either.

Teacher

As a teacher, I like the possibilities this offers for randomizing student participation, but I dislike that you can only "rate" students up to five stars. Also, I cannot find a way to enter "latenesses" and "absences"?

Great app

Know the kids that worked on this and greatly improved its functionality great for in class use

Great Functionality

The app is very useful not only in the classroom but also for randomly selecting items in a group.

Good app

Not limited to picking students. Decent functionality
