About

You left your Mac at home, at the office, or in a bag in another city. PingTray for iPhone tells you it is still there and still online — without opening a screen sharing session or asking anyone to go and look. It's good also for agentic coding. It tells you your mac still online, if remotely connected. Pair the two apps once. From then on the Mac reports in on its own. WHAT YOU SEE • Online, asleep or offline — and how long ago the Mac last reported in • Battery level, and whether it is plugged in • System load against the core count, so a busy Mac looks busy • Every host the Mac is watching, each with its own latency • Where the Mac was last seen, drawn on a map KNOW THE SECOND IT DROPS A Mac that loses its connection cannot tell you so. PingTray notices the silence instead and sends a push — after five minutes, so a router reboot does not wake you at 3am. Turn on sleep alerts as well and you will hear about a closed lid too. WHERE YOU LEFT IT If the Mac shares its location, each report carries its last known position and this app draws it on a map, accuracy ring and all. A Mac has no GPS, so the fix comes from the Wi-Fi networks around it: close enough to tell one building from another, not close enough to point at a desk. Tap through to Maps for directions. PAIRING TAKES ONE SCAN On the Mac, open PingTray's settings, turn on Publish online status, and show the pairing code. Scan it here — or type the six characters. The code works once and expires after five minutes. NO ACCOUNT, NOTHING SHARED BY DEFAULT There is no sign-up, no password, and no profile. The Mac publishes nothing until you switch it on; location is a second switch on top of that, and either device can unpair at any moment. Requires PingTray on a Mac. This app is free and has nothing to buy in it: Custom Hosts is a one-time unlock in the Mac app, and the two share a single App Store purchase. Terms of Use (EULA): https://pingtray.sp33c.tech/terms

What's New in PingTray

1.3.12 (22)

July 27, 2026

What's new in 1.3.12 Only two commits touch Sources/PingTrayMobile or Sources/Shared since build 17; everything else in this bump is Mac-side. - Rating ask (c0aa7d3) — a Rate row in ContentView.swift:252, and the system prompt spent only when the Mac reads online, two seconds after the status lands (ContentView.swift:279). Rationed by Shared/ReviewPrompt.swift: five launches, seven days, once per version, 120-day quiet period, never again once answered. - Hardened Keychain write (22aff09) — Shared/KeychainToken.swift is compiled into both targets and the iPhone calls it at RemoteStatusStore.swift:172, so the fix ships here too, though the ACL collision that motivated it is a macOS behaviour.
