Buggy

Search doesnt seem to work, and selecting any channel crashes app completely. Shame, was hoping this is what I needed.

Best bookmarking iOS app hands down

Just great

Bloated and sluggish

This review is for macOS version. It started as a really good app. I was one of the first users and was very happy about it. However, over time it has become bloated, sluggish, and buggy. Latest release shows weird template strings in the menu. Apparently, no-one has tested it before pushing to App Store.

This Is The One! Buy it Now!

I’ve been an App Store user since the early 2010s and it’s rare for me to take the time to write a review. This might even be my first App Store review, I honestly don’t know.

The Pins apps for iPhone and MacOs are simply the best apps for managing Pinboard bookmarks, bar none. Just buy it now and skip the rest of my review. :)

The interfaces are great, the apps work super well, and the price is absolutely reasonable. You also aren’t stuck paying a monthly subscription for something that is more of a niche utility.

The developer has also been keeping these apps up to date through the different versions of MacOs, the recent changes to the Pinboard API’s ,etc.

I have lso bought other Pinboard apps in the past that worked great but ended-up being abandoned. It’s a niche market, so I get it. But this one is way better than any of the other ones that I paid for in the past.

Just wanted to try and offer a “thanks for such a great app and keeping it up to date” from a fellow Software Engineer who has no association with the company/person who is building this. It’s probably not a big money maker but I am very appreciative of something that really checks all of the boxes for managing Pinboard bookmarks natively on your Mac and iPhone.

If you are looking to manage Pinboard from iPhone or MacOS, just buy it now! Support this developer for such a great app that is also still being updated.

Tags won’t refresh

The MacOS app no longer refreshes tags accurately. Developer is not contactable.

Awful pop-up videos

I love this app for the first minute or two after I open it. But then I start getting pop-up videos. It starts with a video here or there while looking at a page I saved, but gradually progresses to videos even popping up in the app itself and when I click the X to close or swipe to the side, they persistently come back so it is impossible to view my content altogether. Very frustrating.

Very well implemented

Pins show up in spotlight search on iOS and Mac. Very impressed.

Pretty good.

Quite a few intermittent issues lately, I’ve looked but can find no explanation for that, but the app is still working.

Was nice while it lasted

I am very sorry to say this app in no longer working even after update

Bummer because I just started to make it a big part of a new workflow

Not sure where to go now

Would be nice if I can use it again

Fixes in for pinboard api errors

A great app. I use it every day. How do you live without bookmarks?

Twitter-only support; riddled with errors

Initial import worked and I thought this was a decent app. Then one day it just stopped receiving anything new from Pinboard. I refreshed and it would say the data wasn’t in the correct format. I deleted and reinstalled the app, logged out and back in, issued a new API token — nothing worked. I finally clicked the support link and did it bring me to some basic HTML site with an FAQ and contact? No, it loaded a Twitter profile which was immediately obscured by an ad to create a Twitter account. So if that profile did have a link to a support site, I can’t see it. Garbage.

Useless, Won't Save A Thing

Instant Uninstall

Use it constantly

I use this app routinely. I’d be happy to pay $10 a year in subscription fees to support maintenance. It’s a good fit to subscription because there is no real data lock.

Doesn’t sync, no support

Basic functionality. iOS, iPad OS, and desktop don’t sync with each other. No help from developer on the issue. Look elsewhere.

No longer able to capture bookmarks

Instead of the link, Pins now grabs a bunch of nonsense. Used to be an important part of my workflow, now unusable.

Beautiful app with missing functionality

When saving a pin on my iPhone from Chrome, the title of the page isn’t filled in. Makes it very difficult to search later.

Why can’t you edit the URL?

I like the app generally, but I just realized you can’t edit the URL of a link you have saved. Seems like a strange limitation.

Great pinboard companion

I was using Pinner for many years, it just worked, but was no longer updated. Found this when Pinner stopped working. I should have been using this the whole time.

Nice App, Zero Support

The app does what it says basically with some quirks and bugs. Developer ignores support requests.
