The ads are insane
I love Pinterest, had it for over a decade, and used to love it. However, the ads and the AI has made it unusable. It’s not uncommon for the page to be entirely filled with ads and, even when I’ve turned off the AI features, you can still see ones that have been titled as ‘altered with AI’. As soon as I find an alternative, I’ll be deleting this app.

Insane amounts of spam emails
I like Pinterest but how many times do I have to unsubscribe to the emails??? No matter what they start to come back
update is the worst
update is terrible, I agree with the other reviews. I have a board with hundreds of pins, along with several sections within the board, and now the board won’t load more than five pins that aren’t in sections, meaning I don’t have access to hundreds of pins on that board now. it’s just five or so of my hundreds of pins and then the “more ideas” portion. where the rest of my pins are now, I have no idea.
and I hate that now I have to scroll horizontally through the sections too instead of just being able to see them all when I go into the board. besides the update though, pinterest has become full of ai recipes and pins, ads, etc. that along with the new update has made me consider deleting my account

This is NOT a shopping app!!
Why in the world can I not see actual pins anymore?!?! I look up something specific looking for design inspiration and all I get is ads!! Literally 30+ ads or products to buy and not a single actual pin made by someone. This app has lost the damn plot.

I love this app, but it has become so over saturated with ads that it’s hard to enjoy anymore. Every other post on the home feed is an ad, and for some reason the links open just from scrolling so I have to constantly close ads in order to continue using the app.
Far too many ads
Can hardly scroll without ads covering my entire screen. It’s like if Times Square were an app. Everywhere you look there are ads.

It can be very fun, as lots of artists and designers are on here and it’s great for inspo (if you avoid the ai ) there is a feature that tells you if something is ai modified but it doesn’t work and usually ends up letting the ai pass through and marking Real art. The Ai moderation is horrible, it’ll take down innocent pins while letting actual harmful stuff stay up. Tell me why a pin that was a drawing of a character with top surgery scars was removed for “ self harm” but real gore is still up? It’s good for a social media app I’ll admit.

Horrible UI change in recent app update
Absolutely HATE the new swiping navigation that got forced on app users.
Now I have to swipe repeatedly to see my OWN boards, when I once could see them all at once in a two column list.
Please revert the UI change or at least give the option to toggle between views…

ai tips
the ai tips suck so bad. incomprehensible half of the time. incredibly annoying.
Optimized for engagement/ad revenue
Over the past year, Pinterest made changes to scrolling user experience that optimizes for engagement by making it incredibly, frustratingly difficult to stop your scroll without accidentally opening a pin, 1/3 of which are now ads. Normally, apps are designed to treat taps during a scroll as a stop, but Pinterest has decided to make it so that you have to close something you didn’t mean to open every single time you scroll. I have depended on this app for years and it’s all but unusable now.

Too many ads that ruin user experience. Capitalism takes precedence over consumer experience I guess.
Blocks VPNs
This would be a great app, if they didn’t block VPNs. Sadly Pinterest is revealing its true motives to invade your privacy and sell your data by blocking privacy-protecting VPNs. It’s 2026 guys, there’s no need to block VPNs to prevent cyber attacks anymore. Don’t get stuck in the dark ages. If you quit blocking VPNs, I’ll use it again.
