What's New in Pistonly

1.8

WHAT OIL, WHICH FUEL The question every owner has when nothing is broken. In the shop there is a wall of cans, all of them say "suitable", and the choice gets made on price. Pistonly answers it for your engine: the manufacturer approval, not just the viscosity, the capacity and the interval, the octane your engine actually requires against the octane worth paying for, and what owners of this engine typically get wrong. Free, and no adapter needed. WHAT ACTUALLY FIXED THIS CODE A code card used to end with a hypothesis. Now it also carries evidence: the parts that fixed this code on the same model and generation, reported by owners who came back and said what worked. Nothing is shown until three independent reports agree, because one answer is a coincidence, not a pattern. Above that sits your own service book: if you already did work for this code, the card says so, and says the code came back after it. SERVICE REMINDERS The app has been working out the schedule since 1.6, but you only found out you were overdue by opening the screen, which is a reminder for people who already remember. Now it tells you. Everything overdue on one car arrives as a single message rather than three in a row, and reminders are off until you turn them on. A REPORT FOR THE MECHANIC The codes screen could export JSON and CSV, which are formats for another program. At a service desk somebody looks at a sheet of paper or at your phone. The new PDF holds the same content in a readable shape: the car, every code with its plain-language name and the can-I-drive verdict, and what you already did for those codes. That last part is what saves the mechanic half an hour. THE VALUES ONLY THIS APP READS, NOW IN THE RECORDING A recorded drive used to hold standard sensors only. Now manufacturer parameters ride along: transmission oil temperature, the pressure in one particular tyre, an EV cell. The AI analysis of the drive sees them too, so a verdict can rest on the value that actually explains the behaviour. MORE OF IT IS FREE Five full AI analyses a month instead of three. Drive Mode with lap timing is now free. The dashboard light explainer got a budget of its own, so asking about a light no longer eats into your analyses. MODULES Select all or clear the selection in one tap, and the count follows what you tick by hand afterwards. FIXES • Pro subscribers were being held to the free monthly limit and refused from the sixth analysis. Fixed, and the limit for Pro is gone as it always should have been. • The VIN could reach our servers inside a module identification when you asked what a module was. It never leaves the device now, on the client and on the server. • The batch counter could read "8 of 5" while reading or clearing modules. • The record button in the drive log looked active while it was disabled.
