Pitch Hero: Ear Training

Become the musician who plays by ear. Ear training is a skill, not a talent. Pitch Hero turns it into short, game-like lessons you can do every day: name notes, hear intervals, and recognize chords, scales and progressions. YOUR PLAN STARTS WITH AN EAR CHECK Answer 10 questions, easy to hard, and Pitch Hero builds a 4-week plan from where your ear is today. 5 SKILLS, 113 LESSONS • Perfect pitch: name any of the 12 notes the moment you hear it • Intervals: hear the distance between two notes, from a minor 2nd to the octave • Chords: 11 types, from major and minor to sevenths and diminished • Scales: 11 scales and modes, from major and minor to pentatonic, blues and Dorian • Progressions: 6 chord changes you hear in pop, rock and jazz Each unit opens with a short theory lesson and ends with a review. LEARN WITH SONGS YOU KNOW The fifth in "Twinkle Twinkle", the octave in "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Familiar tunes give every interval a hook. 4 EAR GAMES • Melody Echo: hear a tune, then play it back • Note Rush: name the note before the timer runs out • Sing to Fly: sing the right note to fly through the gates (uses the microphone) • Note Drop: sing each falling note before it lands (uses the microphone) REAL INSTRUMENTS Train with recorded grand piano and guitar, not beeps. Switch any time in settings.
