What's New in PitchStar

1.2.3

August 20, 2026

What's New in 1.2.3: • Singing exercises are smarter about what counts. If you're close to the note, progress builds instead of resetting, so beginners can finish without lowering the bar. Wrong notes still won't pass. • New: miss a listening question and you can tap "Hear answer" to hear the chord and the correct note sung with its syllable, so you learn the sound, not just the name. • We updated the curriculum to make learning new syllables a gentler climb, with an easier progression from your first exposure to full command. • More reliable audio. We fixed some freezes and audio dropouts that could happen when you connect or disconnect headphones or Bluetooth during a lesson, and playback and pitch detection now stay steady when you switch devices. • Smoother playback and animations, plus general performance improvements. • Bug fixes and small improvements throughout.

User reviews

Nice visuals. Doesn’t work.

The program is full of bugs. Their claim to fame is supposed to be that your microphone listens to you sing pitches and helps you improve accuracy. Great idea. Problem is, it doesn’t work. No amount of singing at every volume level makes the app react, despite there being nothing otherwise wrong with my microphone or settings. I even used the app’s built -in microphone adjustments (which worked fine) but still the app itself wouldn’t respond to sung pitches in any octave. This could be a good app (I think), but at the moment SHE IS BROKE.

Response from developer

Thanks so much for bringing these issues to my attention! As a solo dev it can be hard to reproduce and catch everything. I’ve tracked down and fixed a bunch of issues around the reliability of the audio engine and specific conditions that would cause it to break or freeze. If you end up giving the app another shot and continue to run into issues I would love to know so I can continue to improve things. I can always be reached through the form at https://pitchstar.app/contact, or by emailing help@stillmindmusic.com. Thanks again for giving my app a try and providing valuable feedback! I hope your next experience is better after these fixes. -Trevor

Best app for ear training!

Easily the best out there. The solfège centered training really helps to both understand and retain pitch knowledge, intervals, rhythms, and more. And it’s leagues above other apps on polish and fun interface. Highly recommended!

Beautiful and easy to use

First ear training app I’ve seen that doesn’t look like it’s from 1990

FINALLY!! A pitch app worth downloading

I’ve been trying pitch apps for a while and this one is hands down the best I’ve tried. Lessons are the perfect length. It’s a must for anyone trying to improve their pitch when singing.
