The app layout is great and works great I am just disappointed that I can may make 3 different patterns yet I only track 1. I wish it was the same number for consistency.

More stitch types are def needed

I was pretty excited when I heard about this program. It’s nice for the most part but I didn’t look further into the plans offered so now I need to wait till the end of the month in order for my new plan to kick in since I had bought the hobby plan to resize a canvas. Now I’m waiting on the creator plan to kick in so I can have a floating map of my project.

I don’t think the padded thread rendering mode, being able to resize the canvas to match any hoops size, the brush sizes, or the Aida cloth canvas should be locked behind a paywall. That’s my personal opinion though.

As for some additions, please add more stitch types. Specifically, 1/4 stitch, 3/4 stitch one color, and 3/4 stitch 2-color types. I’m currently having to use the half stitch option and then use the small square to fill in where I want my 3/4 stitch to relatively be. If these options are already there then please correct me, the options just don’t have labeled names to them in the selection. If not and if y’all decide to add more stitch types, try to not lock them behind a paywall. I feel like it’s a little unfair for the peeps who are just trying to make a nice pattern.

I want to give the app a better rating but I feel like without those changes the app just frustrates me a little more than I’d like. I think some of the options hidden behind the creator plan would be better fit for the hobby plan and some of the options hidden behind both plans would make better sense if they were in the free variant of the app. It was almost enough for me to not want to use the app entirely and find a different program to use but I bought this iPad for pattern making and keeping, I might as well use the app. I gave it a 3 rating as it’s still a nice and simple cross-stitch pattern-making app on the App Store that allows me to get MOST of what I want in a pattern-making app done. I’ll continue to support the app developer and I hope some quality of life changes happen at some point!

Hi there! Thank you so much for the feedback! Am currently working hard on bringing the app to Android ASAP for our non-iOS friends, BUT once that's done I'll 100% look into these QOL changes 💕💕 Happy stitching! - Dyll :)

The *almost* perfect app!!

I’ve been so excited for this app to come out once I saw it on insta. I love the vibes, user friendliness, and utility of all the tools. The only thing I noticed with this app is the dmc color library doesnt really align with the real thread colors, so unfortunately I haven’t been able to use this app to plan the exact colors I’d like to use and I use stitchly instead. I much prefer the user interface of this app though and can tell a lot of thought and work went into it! 🩷🩵

Needs improvement

The conversion page needs a lot of work. I imported the image of a grid from screenshot of o PDF pattern and it was… okay, but it had way more colours than it should. Also, the pattern display UI after is really bad and unusable. 3/4 of the page is taken up by the floss colours, there toolbar for “Pan”, “Merge Colors”, etc is glitched into the pattern display. As for the pattern maker part, I played around with it a little. It’s definitely more developed than the other section, but I’m not a fan of the Tools section, I’d rather it be a bar at the bottom or top of the screen than a moveable rectangle, it’s very distracting and takes up more space than it needs. I would suggest the ability to import PDFs since a lot of digital patterns come in that format.

Hi DestinyValentine, Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback! A couple of quick clarifications :) PixelStitch has two import options: photo import, which converts regular images and lets you limit the number of colours used, and chart import, which is designed for existing pixel/cross-stitch charts from screenshots or images. Occasionally, grid lines or backgrounds can create extra detected colours, which can then be easily removed or merged :) The toolbar overlapping the pattern definitely isn’t intended behaviour. If you’re able to send a screenshot through the in-app bug report or DM me at @crochetbydyll / @pixelstitching, I’d really appreciate it so I can reproduce and fix it ASAP! The toolbar can also currently be resized and locked along the bottom of the workspace :) Direct PDF importing is something I’ve intentionally chosen not to support. As a pattern designer myself, protecting designers’ paid work is important to me, so PixelStitch focuses on importing chart images rather than entire pattern PDFs. Thanks again for trying PixelStitch and for the feedback! I’m actively improving the app and really appreciate reports that help me make it better :) - Dyll
