Note; I’m unsure whether or not this is a glitch or I just don’t know how to bring it up, but the hud seems to have disappeared and I can’t seem to get it to appear no matter what I do. It used to appear for me before, but now I can’t get it to work. I’m on an iPad mini, not a phone.

Hi thanks so much for the kind review! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it. Apple keep releasing new ios versions which breaks things because the app is really old and flakey now (it’s hard to keep it working!) I also use an iPad mini and it works ok - I suspect you may have orientation lock on? Even if you haven’t, try rotating your device to portrait and back to landscape. It should make the hud reappear. I’m working on a complete remake that should make it much more stable!

Side note - I can’t seem to find the control panel on the iPad version. Am I missing something or is there a way to get that to appear?

Thanks so much Adam! There’s a new bug that makes that control panel invisible. Try rotating the iPad to portrait and back to landscape and it should appear!

This is an incredible experience for interacting with your music. I change the orientation on my iPad and phone frequently, so it would be helpful to have the app respond to the orientation changes, as well as have the option to hide the controls/have them fit in any orientation.
Also, is it possible to have it play specific playlists or the whole library randomly or sequentially?

Thanks so much for your kind review. This version of planetary is a bit old now and so it has some limitations - orientation changes are something that had to be removed to get it working again. Just fyi I’ve been working on a new version the last few months which will support orientation changes and eventually playlists too. It’s still some time off but hopefully you’re having fun with the original while you wait :)

The greatest music player in the galaxy!
It’s been a few years since I checked so I figured it would be worth another search.
Nothing comes up if you just ‘Planetary’ in the AppStore 😭
I then decided to dig around the internets to see if there maybe was a way to revive the old version and low and behold. Planetary Remastered shows up.
I can’t believe it!!! It looks glorious on the 12.9” iPad.😍
Thank you so much remaking this lost gem from a time when apps was fun and futuristic. Now most apps are too user friendly and all looks the same.

Back and still beautiful
I loved the concept and was saddened when the app fell out of support.
I’m so glad to have thought to check if by some miracle it was back, and was so pleased to see it resurrected. To me, this is visionary and how we should be thinking about interfaces, unshackling ourselves from tradition and exploring possibilities.
My only request would be to look and see if the same interface could sit over an API from Spotify too, to acknowledge where the music listening trends have evolved to.
