A health metric that fits my body

BMI has always been useless for me. I'm athletic, I carry extra weight from training, and every BMI calculator flags me as overweight. PlateSage uses a different approach – body measurements like waist-to-height ratio – and rolls them into a single number called the Body Balance Score. Two weeks in, and it's the first time a health app has given me a number that reflects my actual situation.

The onboarding is refreshingly calm. No pressure, no hypey promises. It asks what it needs, explains why, and gets out of the way.

Daily meal logging has become genuinely useful. I'm starting to see patterns in what I eat and where my nutrition is out of balance – not in an obsessive way, but in a "good to know" way.

I don't have life-changing results to report yet. But the tone of this app is something I haven't found elsewhere. It handles your relationship with food and fitness without guilt, without drama, and without the noise most health apps pile on. That alone is worth five stars.
