Bad user logon and password reset
App has a bad logon and reset process. Almost all other apps allow a user to reset his/her password by an email adress omly - not asking for name and surname credentailsalso before allowing to reset.
Does not work .. out of date
Can have my money back ?

permanent crashs on search for a wine
Not as good as it used to be...
This updated version of the app is no thing like as good as it used to be. They seem to have made an interactive database very clunky.
Having recently renewed my subscription (wow, that’s not cheap) the app has refused to acknowledge this - I have used my 5 free searches and can search no no more. I’ve logged on, logged off, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted the phone, contacted support... all with no effect.
Pleasingly I do have every copy of the book (back to 1999), so find myself using them instead of the app.

Dreadful
Clunky, hard to navigate, lacking information. Don’t bother.
Update is rubbish
New version is utter rubbish. Makes no sense. Also you’d have thought they’d have uploaded all wines by now. No such luck. Disappointing.
No search working
I had the previous working version of the app. Since updating to the new one I am unable to do anything with it after signing in

I agree to other critics. Search function is complicated. Why not include a search field a for area (Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, etc.)? As it is now, you can really only use the location function and see what’s close. No planning though. Also, I‘d like to search for reds and whites instead of only for specific variety or red or white blends. I’m sure this could easily be improved. Would further be nice to have a map integrated or at least be able to jump to map directly. Not possible for all wineries. Related to what I said above. Room for improvement!

I thought I will give it another try. Was disappointed in 2012 but 5 years later, who knows.
So there is no sample or trial period. You have paid and are dissatisfied again.
Why is it so complicated to have all ratings of a wine maker.
Example: Kleine Zalze Family Reserve 2012. 5 stars in 2016.

Unausgereift!
Ich fühle mich etwas abgezockt, da ich die App wegen der Scanfunktion gekauft habe. Es steht nirgendwo, dass die Scanfunktion noch in der Beta steckt und (jedenfalls bei mir) keinen einzigen Wein erkennt. Die Suche ist auch sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ohne die Scanfunktion ist man mit dem Buch besser dran.

If you want the update to work you need to uninstall and then download whole app again. You will need your username and password again to login.
Still doesn't work properly
This is at least the third update and it still won't filter on varietals. It makes it very difficult to use in a restaurant which is one of its most useful applications. Very hard to recommend until this is fixed.

Constantly crashes
Practically unusable on my iPad. Crashes often and regret that I didn't purchase a hard copy of their book. This was a waste of $10. 😠
