Whether Im traveling or just look for something new around town, platypass has been surprisingly useful. I love that businesses aren’t ranked by who pays the most or who has the loudest marketing. It feels like getting recommendations from friends instead of scrolling through ads and negative reviews.

I was getting tired of every app being full of complaints and negativity. Platypass focuses on helping people discover great local businesses and hidden gems through recommendations from real people. On my last night in Tampa, I was determined to skip the tourist traps and find something authentic. Standard maps kept pointing me to the same crowded downtown chains, so I opened up Platypass instead.
Tucked away in a quiet neigborhood, I found a family run Cuban spot that racked up 6 thumbs up from locals. Walking in felt like walking into my grandmas kitchen. The chef didn’t speak much English but the pressed Cubano was out of this world! The sandwich and home made flan were easily the highlight of my entire trip.
That is what makes this app special, it cuts through the corporate noise and feels less like a directory and more like a shared notebook passed around passionate travelers. If you’re goal is to discover those under the radar family businesses, then this app is a must have!

Great for small business lovers!
I love supporting local businesses in my area and this is a great way to do that. I’ve live in Seattle for a long time and theres always somehere new to go that Ive never been before! Taking a trip to los Angeles soon and i plan on using this app to find new places to eat! I hope this app grows bigger. Very smooth configuration and yhe badge system is pretty cool.
