App

3 hours after the game I can now put the correct result into the App.

Loving it

Great once you get used to it - but last update has made it impossible to score on laptop

Once you get used to it - it is easy. We encourage all teams in our club to score with this.

The most useful button is undo. If you make a msitake at the end of the over - hit undo and it will go back as many balls as you need. Just call out to umpires to wait.

Top tips:

You will never keep up with play when scoring pairs if you try to reccord everything. Just focus on the essentials.

I switch off the "confirm ball option" it just slows you down and if you make a mistake - hit undo and correct it.

Switching on first names when set up pa game makes it easier especially for youth games when spectators dont always know surnmames.

The wagon wheel is fun but can slow you down - so also switch that off if you want.

My main complaint is that the latest version is almost impossibel to score using a MacBook - used to be so much easier than phone or tablet - now impossible.

Ok but….

This week all worked fine..

Last week didn’t like scoring live as both teams were on iPads via play cricket.

This system has its moments ,,,

Latest upgrade is awful!!

Latest upgrade is awful!!

Still glitchy but great when it works

When it works it’s a great app, but there are still unexplainable glitches - for instance tonight it didn’t show the score of one individual batsmen and was highlighting two batsmen as on strike when only one should be highlighted

So bugged, poor navigation when fixing errors, who did the qa on this

Scoring with tablet

I just wish the software wouldn’t freeze.
Only 2 out of 11 where play-cricket allowed me to score the whole game.
It’s a new tablet and I’m a careful scorer

Final result

To many options on final result.

Horrible new update

Tried to score a custom game and when I pressed wicket button the batter stayed on and wasn’t registered as out. After this I pressed undo for that ball and then it brought back the previous batter and all the scores were erased of the batters and one batter had -5 runs.

Sync error

Scores not syncing back to pitch hero

Bugs in latest

Latest update seems to have a few glitches - have to tap end over twice to move to next one,

In pairs cricket it miscounts the number of overs the batsmen have played. Asking you to switch to a new pair after less than the set number

Had been working fine all season until this weekend!

Doesn’t make it unusable, but clearly new bugs in this update

A buggy mess, week in, week out

Whilst i love scoring cricket, and this app certainly makes it a lot easier, I have lost innings and had data overwritten countless times over the last season! It’s beyond frustrating. The developers should be embarrassed.

In what world does it EVER make sense to overwrite data on a client with older data on the server?!

I have tried reporting issues and raising bugs, but without any luck.
If it was open source I’d even consider fixing it myself.

Please sort these incredibly serious bugs out!!

New UI

The new UI is super glitchy and it doesn’t look nearly as good as the old one. Why can’t we just keep it the same…

Very good

Really good by cc

Easy to use, occasional glitches

I use the PCS app regularly for scoring recreational cricket, especially kids’ games. It usually works well, and offers everything you need to score matches at an ordinary club level. There’s an offline/download the match option that works well - not many people seem to know about this, but it’s great for rural grounds or grounds with poor Wifi. However, there are some glitches occasionally that it would be good to see resolved:
– Once or twice a year it freezes mid-game, usually at the end of an over when it’s syncing with the website. When this happens, everything goes haywire and sometimes it records a completely blank over that you can’t edit, delete or overwrite.
– If you’re scoring a pairs game and you input the names of fielders who take catches or engineer a run out, these are deleted by the system. You have to add these details back in manually after completing the scoring.
– It’s really difficult to undo any kind of error you make with a wicket once the game has moved on.
- The end-of-over-summary pop-up hides all the match details until you enter the name of the next bowler.
– The wagon wheel could be improved so that it adapts better to left-handers.

So Easy

Amazing software for easy Cricket scoring, the OP scoring app

Clear data

This app is very good for a quick score in the backyard however when it comes to scoring for a full 8 hours and then there’s an option to clear data and there’s no way to retrieve that I think that is poor design management. Unless there is a way I’m giving it 2 stars.
