It's a Plex client now
Other reviews say the lifetime licence can't be restored for free, but it worked fine for me.
It's nice that it uses a normal iOS UI and it has a level of integration with the Files app. However, it's far less complete than the previous versions. Some key points (criticisms) follow:
- It duplicates files to import them before playing, which is just a waste of storage space.
- It doesn't seem to have picture-in-picture or any way yo change the video crop, which is poor for 2026.
- It's missing DLNA. DLNA is a nice convenient media server used by Windows, PlayStation, and many TVs, so that seems significant.
- It goes online to pull in details about published videos that match the file name of your videos and you can't turn this off. Got a file called IMG0001.mov? That'll be matched to the closest published film. There's probably privacy issues here.
- It's way overpriced. There are other players that have none of these issues, and they're £5 or less for a perpetual license.
As a streaming client for Plex etc it might be great. That seems to be what the dev had in mind with this version.
I'll check back on this periodically, but right not it's not competitive. If they restore the features that have been lost this might become the best player on the App Store, but that's a big 'if'.
If the suite of old complementary apps were merged in (IPTV, music streaming etc) this would be in a league of its own.

Not The Same
I had the old paid version. It was pathetic how it was auto removed from devices years ago. I was able to restore purchase for this version, but it’s pretty useless now. I never used it for streaming from my media server. Just from websites- which it no longer does. Give us legacy purchasers the old version back because this one sucks.

Not as good as it used to be
Lost a couple features since the app originally disappeared. Why can’t we grab videos off the internet? Used to be able to look up YouTube videos and such in app and grab them from there. Please bring this feature back.

Media dose not working from pc
Used to be great
Had 2 prior versions of the player and it was awesome. WiFi uploading was not paywalled, interface was simple. This version only gives a way to play the content from a server, but even that is broken, giving “we cannot play your file” error. Back 2 versions gave this 5 stars. Sad to be uninstalling it.

O aplicativo é maravilhoso muito bonito e bem feito só que precisa colocar uma coisa na aba library teria que mostrar vídeos da galeria do dispositivo só precisaria adicionar isso pra mim já ficaria extremamente completo por favor coloquem essa função porque ficar caçando em pastas não é agradável seria bom abrir o aplicativo e já dar de cara com as mídias do dispositivo. Darei 5 estrelas quando adicionarem

Dev removed existing iAP lifetime
I previously got a free lifetime iAP and went to restore it recently but found it vanished. Looks like the dev has removed it. Not paying for an app I have a supposed lifetime already. Scammy dev!

Garbage App
Do not download this garbage app. You will transfer videos over and then they never appear. All it leaves you is ghost files stuck in your iPad file directory that you can’t delete even if you delete this garbage app. Avoid at all costs.
Could be better
The bad: when navigating to a video file to play, it defaults back to the top menu when you changed folders; it doesn’t read the name of the file-it just uses the folder name for every file in the folder; all the dates of the files were all the same so sorting by date is useless.
The good: snappy interface; adding a network folder was fast; played mp4, avi, mov, and some webm files.
I needed a player that could sort the files by date. This didn’t do it. It wouldn’t even display the file names. I wasn’t going to upgrade to “premium” to see if it unlocked any of these features.

Video works but are other bugs…
The reproduction of video works well enough I’d say but most of the features using the video metadata or such do NOT work.
Also during the video the UI interaction is so slow to the point of being unusable.

Request for TV Casting Feature
I would like to request the addition of a casting feature that allows streaming directly from the app to the TV. It would be great if the casting supports the same video quality as in the app, up to 2060p or the highest resolution available for the movie.
