About

playerborn helps youth sports coaches turn quick spoken observations into clear, personalized development feedback for players and their families. Coaches record short voice notes during practices, games and tryouts. playerborn organizes those observations by player and turns them into readable development summaries families actually understand — without the coach writing anything up by hand. For clubs and coaches: - Capture observations by voice in seconds, anytime - Automatic per-player development summaries - Tryout evaluation tools - Coverage tracking so no player gets overlooked - Private instructor sessions and scheduling playerborn is sold to sports clubs and organizations. Player rosters and family contacts are provided by the club, and families receive updates about their own player.

What's New in playerborn

1.1.0

September 17, 2026

WHAT CHANGED IN THIS VERSION (1.1.0) 1. Hands-free note recording (new). While the Record screen is open and Bluetooth earbuds (such as AirPods) are the audio input, a coach can record without touching the phone: say "Playborn" to start a note (a start tone plays), speak the observation, then say "PB Stop" to end it (a stop tone plays). A note also ends automatically after 2 minutes. There is no separate switch; without earbuds, the normal record button is used. Wake-phrase detection runs on the device. 2. Why the app declares the audio background mode. Coaches keep the phone in a pocket with the screen locked during practice. While the Record screen is open, the app continues listening for the start and stop phrases, records the note, and plays the start and stop tones with the screen locked. Leaving the Record screen releases the microphone. The microphone purpose string was updated to describe hands-free listening. 3. Faster, more reliable note processing. When a coach taps Generate after recording, notes are now processed on our servers, so a long practice with many notes completes reliably and in about a third of the previous time, even if the phone is locked.
