At last a way to record shows in the cloud
Best app for movie and shows!
I begin my downloads on my iPhone and store on my old android or laptop to watch when I have time to relax it’s wonderful catching up on shows and downloading them for later ! It’s a life saver! If only my laptop was as reliable as this app!!
Good service, horrible app
To prep for some international travel I wanted to record and download some movies and TV shows to view offline and cast to chrome cast while I’m in the hotel.
This has been working flawlessly until last night but now whenever my iPhone dims/locks the screen or a minimize the app the volume mutes and I have to go back to the app to increase the volume again.
I use other apps but don’t have this issue and there have been no changes to IOS settings.
It’s annoying so unless it’s fixed I’ll need to cancel my subscription

Great affordable service
I have a ton of streaming subscriptions and am frustrated that they don’t allow you to download movies/shows to watch offline- or if they do- they are limited and most of them expire within 48 hours after you start to watch them, and you can only watch them once. Playon Cloud is easy to install and once you place shows in your queue- you can just close your device and let them download in the cloud. You can either set them to auto download to your device or go out using the downloader and put them on a PC. I chose to download them to a PC as MP4 files because I want to be able to move on and off my device as space is needed. If you download them to your iPad/iPhone - it places them inside your app where you can watch them, but you can’t move them- all you can do is delete them. If you ever want to watch them again- as long as they are still saved in your cloud files, you can still download them again, but that’s more of a pain than just putting them on a USB thumb drive. A little frustration at first when it took a couple hours for the recording to start going- but all got resolved. Apparently they do occasional server maintenance which will hold things up for a while.

Decent service, but obnoxiously poor app
The basic functionality of the app is here, but it is marred with a poor layout (giant icons using up space), and having entirely too many popups, liking constantly telling me to turn in Full HD mode when it is already turned on.
Glad I did the free trial first
I would have been upset to pay for something that barely works.

Was a great app but has many problems right now! Channels are gone, problems with available channels! Can not recommend! They just made the most horrible changes to their once great service and worst of all - they do not communicate anymore, answer questions and solve their problems!
Works well but has a problem
This app works well to record programs you are paying for, so you can watch them if data or wireless is not available. But has a persistent bug — you can’t turn the subtitles off. You go into the subtitles menu and choose “off” and go back to playing but the subtitles are still there. It’s very annoying as I hate watching with subtitles.

You’ve got to be kidding! I’ve been signed up with the app for 5 minutes and have already had—I kid you not EIGHT different in-app pop-ups for deals and purchase packages! This may not be scamware, but it sure feels like it.

Excellent App!
One of my favorite apps ever! I have recorded favorite streams from every platform in their inventory! For years! If there’s a problem, the support staff finds the issue and solves it. Over one hundred downloads and counting. Out of these numerous successes, only one stream lost. Not on their end. The streaming platform had removed the program before recording! Consistent programming on behalf of PlayOn! Thank you!
