About

Some days you need someone, and you don't want to write a paragraph explaining why. Press the button. The person you paired with gets a notification that says you need them. They press back with a heart, a hug, or just "I'm here", and you watch it land. That's the whole app. No feed, no accounts, no conversation to start. WHY IT HELPS Asking for attention is harder than it should be. "You busy?" feels like an imposition. A text disappears into a thread and you're left watching for three dots. So a lot of the time people don't ask, and the moment passes. A button makes asking small. There's nothing to compose and nothing to justify. And because the status changes in front of you, from Sent to Seen to Acknowledged, you're not left wondering whether it landed. Knowing someone saw you and reached back is most of what you wanted anyway. WHO IT'S FOR Couples in different rooms, different buildings, or different time zones. Someone who's had a day and can't explain it yet. A person who worries they're bothering people. Anyone who's wanted to say "thinking of you" without starting a conversation neither of you has the energy for. HOW IT WORKS Pair with one person by scanning a code, in person, once. After that: Press the button. They get a time-sensitive notification, so it comes through Focus. They answer from the notification itself, without unlocking anything. Long-press to ask for something specific: hugs, kisses, some of your time, or your own words. Snooze if now isn't the moment, and it comes back. ON YOUR WRIST The Apple Watch app has the same button, plus a complication so it's one tap from the watch face. You can answer from your wrist too. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts. No profiles. No way for a stranger to find you. What you send is encrypted on your device before it's stored, under a key only your two phones hold, and it goes to your own iCloud storage rather than a server we run. There is nothing for anyone else to read. TRY IT FIRST "Try it without a partner" runs the whole thing on one phone with a scripted stand-in, so you can see what it does before asking anyone to install it. Two people, two iPhones. simple as that. Requires iCloud.

What's New in Please Give Me Attention

2.3.0

September 21, 2026

Now on iPad The app runs on iPad in any orientation, and alongside other apps in Split View and Stage Manager. It is the same app, not a stretched-out phone layout. All your devices, one pairing Sign in on a second device and it comes up already paired — your partner's name, your history, no second QR code to scan. A pairing belongs to your Apple Account rather than to one phone, so adding a device is just signing in on it. Answering also got tidier. Reply to an alert on one of your devices and it clears itself from the others, instead of sitting there waiting to be swiped away. One word that changed meaning Unpairing has always ended the pairing on every device, because what it deletes belongs to your Apple Account. The button used to say "Unpair this phone", which was not true. It now says what it does, and so does the confirmation. Smaller things Clearer wording in Settings and through pairing, including an honest description of what erasing your data does and does not reach. Fixed a case where notifications could be slow to start arriving just after you paired.
