App is buggy

I like the game but the app has UX issues. Too many to list. Here is one: if I turn off sound in your app settings, it means I probably want to listen to my music app while I’m in your app.

Very cool and fun take on Chess.

Very cool and fun take on Chess. My kid discovered it and really enjoys it. It takes a second to get used to the rules, but once you got it, it’s time to plunder!

FAQ

What is PlunderChess?

PlunderChess is a chess variant where capturing an opponent's piece grants the capturing piece a temporary, single-use enhanced movement ability. These acquired powers are indicated by colored vests on the pieces, adding a new layer of strategy and excitement to the classic game.

How do the "plundered powers" work?

When a piece captures an opponent's piece, the player can choose to "plunder" an additional moving capability from the captured piece. This plundered power can be used only once on any future move. Declining to plunder is an option, especially if you suspect your opponent might immediately recapture and gain the power.

Is PlunderChess free to play?

The app is free to download and play. It offers in-app purchases, which may include additional features or content such as puzzle packs or other enhancements to the gameplay experience.

What platforms is PlunderChess available on?

The app supports cross-platform online play, meaning you can compete with players on different devices. Specific platform availability, such as iOS or Android, is generally indicated in the app store listing.

What are the main benefits of playing PlunderChess over regular chess?

PlunderChess offers exponentially more fun by introducing dynamic gameplay. The ability to acquire and strategically use enhanced movement powers after captures makes each game unpredictable and engaging, appealing to both casual players and seasoned chess enthusiasts.
