Plural Log User Reviews

Looks great, has a lot of options

I love all the settings and the UI. I love the recent updates. I hope there will be an update that will allow PluralKit imports as well but as of now, I don’t have the time to transfer all my data from plural kit, unfortunately. Definitely recommended though!

Solid App

So far I’m really enjoying the app. It’s making keeping track of everything a little bit easier. A couple of things I think could use an improvement are:
The front distribution box in the insights. Instead of being a static box the option for it to scroll would be nice.

On the main screen having a little bit longer of a recent activity would be appreciated.

Also when I try to use the actual switch function instead of the quick switch it doesn’t register. Outside of these couple of things, I think it’s a pretty solid app.

Highly recommend this app

We've only been using this app for maybe a week and it's great. We had used SimplyPlural for two years and while that app was fantastic it did have some limitations compared to this one, had I known about it earlier I would have made the switch sooner. Recommend this even more if you'd like to track details about subsystems and groups separately, and if you'd like to track headspaces. The only thing that's lacking in this app compared to SimplyPlural is being able to share fronting updates with others, but I don't have a huge problem with that as not many people in my life know and if they can't tell they can just ask me.

Great UI, Some Tweaks Needed

In light of Simply Plural’s shutdown I’ve made the move to Plural Log and I find the app very intuitive, neat and overall very nice to use! There are a few things about the app that I’m not a fan of, but that don’t ruin the experience I have with it, that I would like to mention all the same as I have had friends using the app echo these feelings.

The co-front feature is a bit limiting as it only allows one member to be “fully”fronting at a time, and it is often not easy to discern who’s got the most control at a given time. If the same person who’s fronting could be designated as a co-fronter, or if multiple fronters could be selected, I think this issue would be remedied. Next, the custom fields not being able to be reordered after creation is frustrating. I appreciate that they are even an option, but if mistakes are made or if I want to make a change later on, I don’t want information to be lost because I have to delete and recreate fields.

Lastly, a request that may conflict with the app’s private nature is the creation of a friends function. I understand if this is not possible without major reworking, but as someone with several in-person and online friends who are also systems, the ability to keep up with one another’s internal goings-on is very helpful. It’s one of the features of Simply Plural we have been mourning the most.

Thank you for creating a great app, and thank you in advance for any changes implemented in response to feedback from myself or others! I appreciate your effort.

Almost perfect

This wasn’t easy for me to navigate, and especially importing from sp which was extremely complicated as well. You can’t have more than one headmate fronting, that isn’t by co-fronting. There isn’t a way to change the term “system.” There isn’t a way to view all the headmates switching dates. And I haven’t found a way to re-organize the custom fields, which is really bothering me. Otherwise, this would be a great alternative for iOS.

The update is very good! :D

The updated version with the newly improved features is great! We’re able to create folders and lists more easily, and the member sorting is very easy now.
This app is still 5 stars, and it’s very nice as first-timers navigating a system app.

I was wondering if we were able to put pictures in our profile markdowns, but anyways the user experience has been fantastic overall!

I was also wondering if we can create moodboards, like put a Moodboard section where we can put pictures of what we each like under our names so it’ll be easier to see what each member likes and prefers based off photos. It’s more like a visual representation of what they are just from the pictures alone.

The new version brings the features you wanted! Let us know how it goes!!

This is awesome! But

it would be nice if there was steps on how to use the federation thing! maybe even a video?

other than that; can we have an option to add total front time to co-fronters?

Chat Feature

App is great, been a pretty smooth transition over from SP. So thank you and congrats on that!

I am having a bit of trouble with the chat feature, I wish there was a “recent alter” kind of thing so you don’t have to go in and search for the specific name everytime. If two people are typing a lot then their names stay as options in the suggestions bar?

Additionally I’m confused about how to make it so friends/partners can see when you switch. I’m having a really hard time understanding the whole federation thing.

Great so far!

I really like everything in the app so far, it feels very intuitive and I love the layout. However, there’s some small quality of life fixes I think would benefit it a lot- my main one is the option to reorder the information fields, since mine are currently disorganized. Maybe even dividers for that too? That’s all for now I think though!

How to add friends

I am really loving the app so far it’s nice and easy to get the hang of I heard some others say you can add friends/others on here but i’m not exactly sure how or if I am just completely missing it! otherwise the app is great and has been super helpful I just wish there was a way to import and export data from other apps

Love iit

I’m bad with words but this is a nice alternative to simplyplural that I could finally get my hands on, my only complaint is that I wish there was a way to sort / reorder custom fields manually (if that makes sense) and a way to track alter relationships and friendgroups / groups / couples.. etc. But I do reccomend it overall :)

Great app but…

this is an amazing app it has all the features we used simply plural for but with simply plural shutting down we would love to see a way to import alter profiles from simply plural to Plural Log other than that with the most recent update this app is absolutely wonderful and is great for logging all your system data

You can import from SP! You just need to convert your json export prior to importing it, which you can do using our website, https://conversion.plurallog.com/. I’d recommend doing this on desktop as doing it on mobile can result in errors. Let us know if you have any trouble!

a wonderful app!

it’s got a really nice design and i really enjoy it! however, i don’t understand the federation aspect. the instructions are vague and when you do something wrong it simply tells you to look at what you did with the only example being a generic link example. if there was more specific instructions and information on the federation page, the app would be much easier to use and perhaps surpass simply plural entirely. i understand the app is generally very new and still has some developmental work to be done, so take this more as constructive advice rather than a simple critique. i’m excited to explore more of the app and use more of it more often!

Great app

this is a great app, very user friendly, I just wish it had a search function for alters as scrolling with a huge list is hard to sift through. I’d also like to see a similar notification function from Simply for alters/parts to see chats without the need to attempt remembering to respond between switches.

We’ve updated the app specifically to accommodate larger systems better. Try it out!

Genuine feedback

I like this app! It’s currently lacking a few features I would really like that I feel would improve the experience. My feedback would be to add some way to organize/rearrange the order of the member list. (Such as alphabetical, or by most recent) add a few more colors to the color options, and maybe if possible a way to edit a fronting period to be able to track one after it ended.
Overall, I think this app is useful, and i think it’ll be a good way to keep track of alters, it has the basics, i think it’ll could just use a few more little things.

All of these are added! Let us know how the new build is.

Good for logging, confusing for sharing

I really enjoy this app and it does everything that I used simply plural for. My one complaint is mostly a user error. I enjoy being able to share who is fronted with my friends, and I do not understand how to use the “federation” to do that. I wish there was an integrated instructions or tutorial for using the federation.

Loving this app so far

I love that it has a chat function and the ui is very intuitive. However, I’d like to see the addition of groups and for the chat to be tweaked a bit. Those with a lot of alters may struggle to pick the right names in chat because you have to scroll all the way to the right till you find the right name. Maybe a search button? Also, the chat box covers the most recent message. Other than those three complaints, I’m loving it.

a solid app, though some dissatisfaction

a very solid simply plural alternative, though i do find myself very dissatisfied with the fact that you cannot edit journal entries or messages, you can only delete them and then resend them. and with an inability to copy and paste, if you need to edit something but you wrote a lot, well, then… you’re out of luck. we also don’t really like that you can only pick one main fronter, and only the main fronter is shown in the statistics, not any of the co-fronters. but in the case of our system, we have two main fronters who are almost always co-fronting together, so it is a little frustrating to only be able to select one of them as the “main” when there is no main between them. that said, it is nice that this app allows for complex subsystems, which our system certainly has, and i also rather like the fact that you are not forced to pick a system name, and overall i enjoy what this app has to offer. there are some small bugs and nitpicks i have and would personally like to see fixed or changed (such as wishing the total front time for an alter updated in real time, since it seems as of right now it only updates after an alter stops fronting) but these have no bearing on the rating as that is all personal preference. that said, i do understand that this app is in early development, and i hope i can someday leave a higher rating.

We’ve updated the app to address some of these pain points specifically. Cofronting can now be treated as contributing to stats or not contributing, we’ve improved some features for large systems, addressed some bugs, added editing to journal entries and chats, refined our markdown implementation, and updated custom fields. If the new experience is better, feel free to increase the rating! Otherwise, let us know what’s up.

great app so far!

since the death of the two biggest system apps i knew…i was a bittt worried. i really like this app! its got nice set up and doesn’t force anything onto you. only issues i really have is making it look good. the icon stuff is a little wonky because of the color outline…so it always looks like its cut off or wrong. but besides that, its nice so far! please dont delete your app or end up having some evil staff member! it is so hard to find any apps that are on ios..

We’ve updated PFPs so you can select the sub image that’s used. We’re having some issues fully understanding your ideal app outlook though, so if you’d like to refine it and repost/comment feel free!

really good app

overall -- a very nice app and suitable replacement/alternative to simply plural or octocon.

the only downsides are that you can't rearrange members or custom fields, and you can't add custom feelings to the journal entries, but the app is still in development and these are very small issues that don't diminish my user experience much at all. they are just quality of life things that would be nice to have at some point.

i didn't feel like i was missing out on anything switching over because it has all the features that i loved about simply plural and octocon both, and plurallog is very intuitive and easy to use. i appreciate that everything is offline, and even if you opt-in to the friends/online bit, all of your information is still accessible offline and is stored locally on your device. this means that all of my information and data is private, which is something that i was concerned about using other system-focused apps.
