Stricter filtering on allowable posted plans needed

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! We actually already offer advanced filtering options so users can customize the types of plans and people they want to see. One of the things that makes Plus 1 different is that we want to be inclusive and give people the freedom to create the experiences they’re looking for, rather than being the “plan police” and deciding which activities are worthy of being posted. We believe everybody deserves a Plus 1. We also intentionally offer flexible plans. Sometimes someone knows they want to grab drinks, play tennis, go boating, or attend an event, but doesn’t care exactly when. Once they approve their Plus 1, they can coordinate the details together. Other plans have a specific date and time because tickets or reservations are already booked. And if you don’t see anything you love, that’s the beauty of Plus 1: post your own plan, choose exactly what you want to do, and you’re completely in control of who you approve to join you. We appreciate the feedback and will continue improving our filters and discovery experience as the community grows!
Good concept, but the app has a serious identity problem
The concept has potential, but the current execution needs improvement.
At present, the app does not differentiate itself enough from Facebook groups, Meetup, or other established community platforms. While it aims to help people make plans and meet others, it offers limited tools for discovering users with shared interests, building familiarity, or connecting before committing to an event.
I also found that user feedback did not seem to be fully addressed. Discussions about suggested improvements were often compared to dating apps, which overlooked the main concern. The issue is not that the platform should function as a dating app, but that users need better ways to identify shared interests and establish a level of comfort before meeting new people.
Many of the posted plans also lacked appeal or originality, making established local communities and social groups appear to offer stronger alternatives for finding meaningful meetups.
Overall, the concept could succeed with improved filtering, more engaging community features, stronger opportunities for user connection, and a clearer value proposition that distinguishes it from platforms users already know and trust.
