If it’s not broken, why fix it

Updated layout was not needed

No customer service

I paid for the app and I still couldn’t access the features in the app. I attempted to contact the creator and never got a response.

Not worth to download

Still have to pay more once you already purchased the App to have access to entire App! Doesn’t make sense!! Waste of money!

No update in years

There hasn’t been an update to this app in 5 years. Kind of skeptical of paying 3.99 a year with no update to the app in five years.

App appears to be abandoned

Whatever you do, do not purchase a subscription for any of the pocketbrain books made by this developer. He’s still pulling down subscriptions and hadn’t updated or changed a single thing on any of the apps in over 4 years. Stay away! The information on the apps are extremely out of date.

Subscription, but no updates?

Given the subscription cost per year is there going up be any updates? The app is falling behind on law updates, policy changes, latest specific department changes, etc.
If there won’t be any more updates it’ll be pointless to continue the subscription.

3.99 to 7.99? Bye

What has changed in this app to cause that kind of increase? There hasn’t been any updates, any additional new information, anything that would justify a $3 increase. Sorry. I’ve had this for a while but I’m out now.

Review

Love the app, but wish when clicking a charge that it actually goes to the statute!

Q&A section

Would like to be able to turn this off.

Possible Bugs

When this app came out it was quick to open and filled with everything you needed as a cop.
This past year however, the app no longer opens and the app is now useless for this reason.
Pls fix the problem since you have no problem taking my yearly renewal fee.

Great reference app

Great app. Easy to use and great to reference. Had the previous state specific app and liked it back then.

They also are very quick with support. Had my issue resolved in a timely manner.

Buyer beware

If you owned this app prior to 2019, you are being DOUBLE CHARGED!! Check your subscriptions. I was being charged for “Pocket Brainbook Police” and “Pocket Brainbook LASD”. I wish I could submit a screenshot... This app used to be good when it started. Now it’s too generic... will not renew... better off with the printed version.

Extremely helpful

I use this app in the field all of the time. I find it easy to look up codes and info that I quickly need to access. All of my questions are quickly answered if I have any. I like the fact the app is constantly updating and adding new things. Also the app maker is willing to take suggestions from others too make the app better, which is awesome.

A must app for LE

Great app!!! Tons of useful info!
Excellent helpful tech support.
A must for anyone associated with law enforcement.

Pretty Much Useless

I wasted my money opening up locked features as far as DUI’s go. I’m better off Googling everything I need to know. It shows certain crimes as just felony or misdemeanor, but doesn’t give a class, i.e. class a misdemeanor or class c felony, etc. It instructs you what to do on a DUI, but doesn’t give you the verbiage to say to the motorist so you don’t mess up what you say. Don’t waste your money!

To many issues

I’ll just start with the SFST section. You’re instructions DON’T follow NHTSA guidelines and the clues aren’t correct either. Ex.... OLS doesn’t require a person to put their foot down 3 or more times to be a clue. It’s once!

If you can’t get that right I don’t trust the rest. It’s straight from a national handbook. Smh!

Very useful app

I find myself using this app more and more, from the age calculator to case law. Thank you for the continued progress in making this the universal app for law enforcement.

Please fix!

Unable to use even after paying $3.99. App shuts down when opening. Would have rated much higher if it was not for that problem.

Helpful

Helpful, quick reminders. Always refer to the actual California Penal Code book for specifics of statues. But for a quick reminder and brief description of topics, this is helpful. Get the pocket book for your uniform, you won’t always be able to pull your phone out at a call.

Helpful app

So part of my duties is ramp parking enforcement. I found this app very useful in this as I could enter in player numbers of people that were not authorized to be parking where they were, and easily search for their plate number with the app. This has saved a tremendous amount of time. This far, support has been great, making a few changes that made the app operate a little easier. I do recommend you take a look at this.
