My favorite app

I have had this app for a few years now and it’s helped me tremendously in practicing for church or transposing so I can play with the song. My favorite thing is being able to change the tempo to go from learning to perfection. I will continue using this app and am excited for new updates!!

Great learning resource!

I’ve used this app for several years to dissect parts of songs I want to learn. The loop and tempo feature is invaluable. Has really helped me get better as a musician.

Great program!!

Our music director is constantly shifting the performance keys of the pieces we do and, as an instrumentalist, I like to practice against the recordings I find online. This program allows me to easily pitch shift so my performance matchs the recordings. And being able to slow down the tempo and loop sections for learning and practice is invaluable.

It can also access your files, and Dropbox should work too. When you add music, choose ‘Files’. Click the ‘Browse’ tab at the bottom twice to take you to a page with ‘Locations’. If you don’t already see Dropbox listed, click the three dots in the top right hand corner, ‘Edit’, and enable Dropbox. You should be good to go from there!

Not Work with Apple Music

Pocket Jam is disappointing. The app promises Apple Music song import, but in reality this feature simply doesn’t work. Until they fix this, it doesn’t deliver what it advertises.

Does exactly what it says

Able to change pitch and tempo on the fly is super helpful with arrangement and transcription of passages of music. Great little app.

Keeps prompting to write a review

The app is okay, does what it says. The problem is the developer prompting the user to write a review every 5 minutes.

It will stop asking after you dismiss the review message three times (without quitting the app in between) - or immediately after you write a review. Can't transpose songs on Apple Music

I bought this app specifically because I needed to transpose a song on Apple Music to a different key. The add in description of this app says "works with Apple Music". When I tried to transpose it, even though it is downloaded on my iPhone, it told me the app cannot transpose songs from Apple Music. I tried the app support link to ask about this, but it takes me to X and I don't have (or want) an account on X. I wish I could get my money back, as it doesn't do the one thing I need it to do!!!

Sorry the app hasn’t worked out for you. I do my best to be very explicit about this limitation - the screenshots do say (in a very large font) pitch changes do not work with Apple Music. If you tap the help menu (the question mark in the circle), then ‘contact developer’ menu from the app, it’ll give you my email address, I can help you find a solution that will work for you!

Car playback issues

It doesn’t work well with car bluetooth connection. If I try to use the arrows on my wheel to change to the next song, it skips songs. also, it’ll automatically play 2 different songs overlapped when I open it back up which is annoying. stops it from being a good app

Invaluable practice tool use in every situation every time. Loops for tough spots & solos, increases speed & accuracy with speed training. Ability to label in detail even helps perfect your parts away from your instrument. Highly recommend!

Pitch control is only in half-steps

Not continuously variable pitch shift, so this is not an appropriate practice aid for orchestral instruments. Too bad. If this were corrected, it could be useful, but as it is, the pitch change feature is worthless.

Ignore the reviews below. I took a chance on this app after reading the reviews and it's perfect! To add songs simply select "add song" and point the program at your itunes directory. Plays both MP3's and songs purchased on the iTunes store (M4a). What I did notice is that the "add song" icon seems unusable (goes grey) after adding your first batch. Stays grey unless you clear your songs queued. It's likely user error. A simple work-around to this is to simply drop and drag songs you want to add from iTunes to the app window. Other than that this app seems to do exactly what I want (slows songs down while keeping pitch, and changes pitch while keeping tempo). 5 stars!

Your app is total garbage. I tried it and it wouldn’t even let me import songs from Apple Music. You are a bunch of money hogs!

Doesn’t work

I am getting “playback error” nearly every time I try to play a song from my Apple Music library. Would love to talk with the developer about how to fix this.

I didn’t hear back from you so I assumed you managed to close the review prompt and get back into the app as normal If you do have a moment could you update your review - it really helps out! 😄
