Worthless unless you pay monthly
As above. Would be happy to pay outright for this but as usual and like most other apps it’s gone down the route of a subscription.
Started great now subscription.
Paid for a premium app used every day. Now I haven’t used it in years. Dip in to check one law and can’t see or use a thing without subscribing.
I’m sure that’s fine if you use it a lot but after paying a one off price it’s infuriating in my use case.

Have to pay to even view anything. What’s the point of even having a standard mode. Just have the pro. Very greedy

Had to cancel as app stopped recognising that I had a subscription - great app when it worked

Pay for the app and then expected to pay £1.99 a month to access anything on the app…
RIP off
I pad for this app to check legislation. Then when I came to search and select it I was told I had to ‘upgrade’ to a monthly fee (on top of the initial purchase price) to access. Absolute con.

Disappointing App
I bought this app when it was an upfront fee which was reasonable. The app has now paywalled 99% of the content behind a subscription fee making it a pretty useless app if you don’t want to fork out extra money now that you’ve already paid up front.
Unreliable, switched to a better alternative
I tried Pocket Sergeant on my iPhone, but it frequently failed to load and didn’t remember my subscription. Because of this, I couldn’t access the features I needed. I’ve decided to cancel and use a more reliable tool that better meets my needs. Truthfully i now use AI. Plus with onenote, I have most of my templates and case file checklists at hand.

Ruined by cash walls
Everything useful is now hidden behind paywall subscriptions. Makes this app practically useless for quick reference now. Shame as I now don’t see the point of keeping it after I paid for it.

I used to use this app every day and I’d paid for it and the content inside the app. Now they have added subscription and hidden half the offenses behind a paywall that were previously viewable for my original price paid. Feel robbed.

Subscription should not be reminded each time you log in
Decent app but each time you open it, it continually asks for a subscription. If users want to subscription for 99p then they will. Being bombarded constantly isn't the way to "sell" an app. You can argue about updated legislation etc etc and keeping app updated however that shouldn't mean I have to keep seeing a reminder to subscribe. I've already paid £4 for it. Either make it a subscription app or a direct one-time payment app

We hear you and we will take a look at this. We have added a new “What’s New” pop up button and added new / updated labels on crimes in the newest app update. Whilst users pay initially for the app, they receive up to date content on the day of download. However, when content is updated, it is imperative users are aware a subscription is required to keep legislation up to date. This is important in regards to their decision making. We will however, take on board all of your feedback. We hope despite the subscription prompts, you’re enjoy using the app and find it useful.
Unusable
Thank you for making this app literally unusable without a subscription… I had it for about 6 years and with every update you have put more and more restrictions on it to force the users to get the subscription. Well this became pretty annoying so I decided to delete it and move to the competition, Duty Pro, which does a very good job and I’m happy with.

I have used this app for a number of years and found it extremely useful. There is no other app that comes even close. Worth every penny. Keep up the wonderful work guys.
Sad it’s behind a paywall, but I get it.
I bought Pocket Sergeant about five years ago now I think. I used it almost daily when I was working on response. The only reason I haven’t given it five stars is because the content is behind a paywall. I understand why they had to move in that direction, but I’m sad about it nonetheless. I do think the subscription will be worth it for anyone who is looking up legislation frequently though.

Hey - we at Pocket Sergeant had all the feels about introducing a paid subscription. We put it off and kept it as low as possible for as long as possible but ultimately it was our only option to remain financially viable. Thank you for your honest feedback and support of the platform.

Invaluable resource
I have used this for years as a PC and a Sgt. It’s a quick guide when in custody to get the correct offence codes and a simple way to find offence wordings. The small monthly fee is well worth it to save fighting with PNLD.
