Amazing tester, so many functions at a very reasonable price
Best Ethernet tester I’ve come across, really hope they are available to buy again, dreading the day I loose mine and have to find a replacement
Avoid
Such a shame. So many annoying little bugs that could be fixed relatively easily but it seems that have given up on it.
Great handy tool
This tool and app are solid, I have been using them for years with no issue… it’s too bad they no longer make the device, I tried to buy another one but was not able to. Very unfortunate for a very well made product. I still give it 5 stars.
A great tool for discovery
I have had this little mini “analyzer” for about 3 years. I use it mostly when trying to initially evaluate a new customer’s network. When you walk into a rats nest of an IT room and you have no idea where to start this is one of several tools that I use. I like being able to carry such a small device around with my cell phone and see if cables are live, and what network they connect to. If it is a Cisco environment I can also tell what port they are on. Yes I could do that with a laptop, however this is so much easier then dragging a laptop around. Also many times there is no room for a laptop. I can just plug this in and let it hang from the Cat 5/6 cable and run a quick test. The TDR wire map and graph are also really great tools and the primary reason I initially purchased the unit. When working with data cables in harsh environments it helps to find where the issue is. It also helps find the bad coupler that someone hid in the ceiling. If you happen to be on a ladder testing a cable for a surveillance camera this is the tool to have. My biggest fear is that I will leave the device somewhere or someone will take it. I think the developer should offer an option to embed an “Apple tag” inside the unit so I would be able to find it again should I loose it. I would certainly recommend this to other folks that work with networks a lot.

Do not buy
Support has stopped for this product.
iPhone has to be in proximity?
Why does my iPhone have to be within Bluetooth range to send a tone down a line? If my phone leaves the area the test will stop. Can’t you guys fix this? This is unacceptable.
Also the link test takes way too long IMO.
The app needs more polishing, the reports should be able to output as an image.

Where?
I’m not sure where is this project is heading. The device itself is awesome and the app still works but for how long?
It’s still worth getting if you need this kinda IT diagnostic tool

No auto save to iphone for multiple tests
I do like this tester to do simple service call test for one or two cables. But there isn’t a way that I found that it will auto save to the iPhone without hitting save and then veiw each test to a third party app. I use genius scan . And the other thing that could be updated in the UI is when you test a cable and your not in the right port it says miss wire instead of open or no cable present

Dead app
Not working. Soon as it opens it crashes.

Terrible, crash-prone, no updates
This app hasn't been updated in over a year. It is extremely crash-prone across multiple iOS devices.
The UI is clunky. No way to stop a test in progress, and no way to save a suite of tests to run. You always have to select each test individually.
The export is terrible. There is no saved database of tested ports. You can generate a single PDF (full-page letter) after running your tests, but run another test and that original data is gone. There is no overview PDF that can put multiple ports on the same page.

Good App useful and helpful
Good app with a lot of very helpful features saved a lot of time and effort on multiple occasions.
The app could do with a few updates, specifically the tone side doesn’t seem to continue working if the phone becomes disconnected from the pockethernet.

Update Needed
The functionality of the app is awesome however it feels quite dated and lacks iPhone X support.
Great tool
This is a great tool for the price. Very happy with the performance and functionality. Keep it up. It would be nice to be able to cancel and “Measurement” once it had been started. But no big deal
Easy to use, good range of functions and cheap to buy.
With other testers with this degree of functionality costing over 6 times as much. This is a relative bargain.
Great device and cheap
You won't find a better network tester for this price point. Simple as that.
A good start....
As far as being able to use all the functions of the tester that goes with the App, then it works perfectly well. But there are a few niggles that need ironing out. There are a few instances of text not quite fitting the display correctly and the PDF report doesn't seem to pick up the location information that you an enter yourself. A simple user manual built in to the app would be handy to, as the single A4 sheet that the tester comes with is not a lot of help with how to actually use the tester in conjunction with the App. But, it is V1.0 and I've no doubt they'll be some improvements coming along. But it certainly is a very promising bit of kit, and with a few tweaks, a very useful hardware/App combo!
