CarPlay, rebuilt. The CarPlay app is redesigned around three destinations: Mix to choose your sources and start listening, Queue to see and jump around what is coming up, and Browse to dive straight into a show or playlist. Artwork, station and playlist covers, and the now-playing controls all render properly on the head unit, and source changes you make in the car appear on your phone straight away. Faster everywhere. Episode lists scroll smoothly through long shows instead of catching, artwork appears sooner, and your Apple Music playlists and stations are on screen the moment you open Home, the music shelves or CarPlay. Better sound. Podcast loudness is now levelled so episodes and music sit at a consistent volume instead of one jumping over the other, and the speed-up engine holds voice pitch more faithfully at higher speeds. Transcripts you can search. Episode transcripts gained navigation and search, so you can jump to the moment you remember instead of scrubbing for it. Reliability and sync. Resuming an episode on another device no longer risks marking it played or replaying stale progress. Seeking while paused holds its position. Subscription import and export are faster and safer on large libraries. A library that is still syncing now says so, rather than looking empty. Smaller things. The sleep timer now fades podcast audio out instead of cutting it. The mini-player has skip controls that match what is playing. Chapter waveforms fill out properly on episodes with sparse chapter data. Setting songs between podcasts to zero now gives you a podcast-only mix. Fixed library playlist artwork failing to render, tips appearing behind Now Playing, and music prefetch interfering with AirPlay.
