Solid but with issues

App frequently crashes, can’t import from a file, when importing from another app it will crash and only import a partial list. Unable to sort by last played podcast. Despite this it’s a simple layout not trying to do too much. Good looking app. And very layout.

Way Better Than Most

My all time favorite podcast is Mysterious Radio and this app updates their episodes quickly. There’s nothing more frustrating than not being able to play an episode when you know it’s there. Thank you for the better listening experience.

Response from developer

Thank you very much for your positive app review! We're delighted to hear that you're enjoying the app. If you have any further feedback or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your support! /Pods Team

One Star For Two Bugs

I cannot buy the in app purchase (literally unable to do so), nor can I reach out to the developers via the app. The majority of buttons in the settings are broken & do absolutely nothing. I NEVER give low reviews, but I’d like to actually be able to give this app a chance, provided they fix these bugs. Once these bugs are addressed, I will update my review. Overall, as a new user, it’s been pretty frustrating.

Thanks for the feedback, that bug is solved now. Let us know if there is any other issues podsplayer@gmail.com

Perfect in every way including the icon

Now the app is perfect in every way including the icon

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback, i agree the icon is not so nice, i will give it a new try to make something more crisp, If you have ideas of the look, or missing any features contact the Pods team at podsplayer@gmail.com Have a nice day! /Miguel

Poor sorting

Why can’t I have the latest episodes on top of the list? I thought that it was how it was supposed to be. I want the latest episodes on top the list. But that is not how it is. It’s more of clatter. Waste of my money

Response from developer

In playlist tab you can change settings for your play list and sort on latest episode. If it does not work its a crappy bug from our coders, that we need to fix. Thanks for your feedback. /Pods team

Almost perfect except one vital missing function

Been searching for an alternative to Apple’s native. This is closest thing to what I want, but the search function only supports title search (not episode description or content), which keeps me from upgrading and fully switching. There are other less important glitches and functions I’d like to see, but feedback button doesn’t even work.

Ok app... when it works

I really liked this app when I discovered it. It has some nice features and looks like it has potential to be my go-to podcast app.

The most recent updates have been frustrating, purging all my chosen podcasts and making me begin as though I never used the app. That was annoying, but something I was willing to accept since I never paid for the “pro” upgrade.

The MOST ANNOYING thing that the most recent upgrade has done is make the playing of podcasts unstable. Podcasts will simply and randomly STOP PLAYING in the middle of a program. This function is (duh) the prime purpose of the app, and it’s now somewhat broken. If you restart the app, you can continue listening to the cast where the app paused, but why should that be? While listening to a 30 minute podcast, this pause in the program can sometimes happen 4-5 times.

Rather than leave a review to complain about this, I originally thought I’d leave the developer feedback from either app. There IS a link within the app to do that, BUT IT IS A FUNCTION THAT ONLY WORKS FOR PRO USERS!!! (How crazy is that??)

I really want to continue liking this app, but if this pausing doesn’t get fixed soon (please please), I will be moving on.

Response from developer

Thank you very much for the comments. I really agree about the crazy link thing, it's a bug a fixed in todays release (5.5). About the pause bug i’m trying to reproduce it(no luck so far), The only time automatic pause should occur is when a new headphone/device is unplugged/plugged in. If you can please provide some more info(does it pause without using headphones?, are you playing via cromecast, does it pause for all shows you are listening to, device?) Of course i will send you a free code so you can upgrade for free. podsplayer@gmail.com Have a nice day :) /Miguel

Bugs bugs bugs

This app is extremely unstable in its current state. I opened the app and couldn’t even get the discover page to load no matter how many times I closed and went back. After I imported my podcasts and started playing one, the now playing screen is nowhere to be found!!

Response from developer

Thanks for feedback, the app is hopfully getting better and better for every release. I know there is a lot to test, i am doing my best designing, coding and testing. if you can, you are welcome to write which phone and iOS version you are running and which podcast you are trying to play, so I can troubleshoot better. Have a nice day, hope you dont give up on the app, i will not. :) /Miguel

Too much work

That was the 2nd or 3rd time that an update lost all my bookmarked podcasts channels. It's come in handy at times over the past year, but overall, it's not worth the hassle to me anymore.

Response from developer

Thanks! For your patience and that you gave feedback, I must test the app more and work further on increasinging the stability. :) / Miguel

Waste of time and misleading.

Ended up paying the $1.99 to “unlock” features. Have a Ben Shapiro podcast in “my playlists” that I didn’t add and CAN’T DELETE!! Also can’t add podcasts I’m subscribed to with a url. Thankful I only wasted $1.99.

Response from developer

Hi! Thanks for the feedback! It sounds like i have a bug to fix here, delete should always work. I’m trying to reproduce it. There is no feature to add podcasts using a URL?, i can implement that if you want. In worst case uninstall/install the app, if you want your money back plus some extra for the frustration having an app not working, just send me a mail to podsplayer@gmail.com Regards /Miguel

Nice ideas

I like the topics they cover. Never heard another podcast like this. Pretty imaginative

Response from developer

Thanks! for feedback, let me know if you are missing some feature in the app. Thanks! / Miguel

Crashes every time

And app support is in Swedish app art from two words: offline & podcast. How does using google translate make the app crash?

Response from developer

I use Google Translate :) maybe i missed som texts?

Mediocre

Not very intuitive, glitches, no settings. Found something else better

Clutter

Not very user friendly. There’s no single screen of your favorites or any clear way to manage your list of podcasts. I’m deleting it

Response from developer

Thanks! for your feedback, i will try to make the favorite button more visible and maybe ad some explanation text after you mark an episode as a favorite.

No podcasts

I downloaded this app and saved some favs. BUT nothing downloads or plays, NOTHING. No menu or settings to offer any advice. When I save, it makes like 5 copies. I Amy not be doing this right but there is no info to assist me.

Unusable

Shows the same episode multiple times.

Wouldn’t even load

Spent 15 minutes waiting for it to even load to check it out and gave up. Deleted.

Response from developer

Hi! Sorry for that crappy experience, the pressure on my backend with 1GB ram, was to high. i need to buy some more capacity. Thanks for the feedback! /Miguel

Works, simple, has skip

While using Bluetooth, audio stops when Waze has a turn/alert notification, it stops the pod player, and you have to pause & play to resume podcast playing.
Also the forward /back button on Bluetooth controller doesn’t do anything to pods app, it should skip forward/back when pressed.

Interface is clean and simple, I like that I can discover more podcasts out there.

Response from developer

Thanks! For your feedback, I tried to reproduce the forward/back button bug, but with my bluetooth it works. It's probably some crappy code i wrote that i haven't found yet, will continue looking for it. :)
